Icon Stage 2 & 2014/15 Trail Wheels & 285s
Hello all. I will be putting an Icon Stage 2 suspension in my 2014 Trail. My goal is to keep the Trail wheels, but the shop I'll have the work done at (when the parts come in) has some concerns about clearance between the tires and the tubular UCAs on the stock wheels. I plan on going with the Toyo ATII tires at 285/70/17.
My question is if anyone is running the Icon Stage 2 w/ tubular UCAs on original 2014/15 trail wheels and 285/70/17 tires, and if so, how much clearance you have between the tires and the UCAs? Or did you try a similar combo and find that there wasn't enough space?
Thanks so much in advance!

Icon Stage 2 & 2014/15 Trail Wheels & 285s
Idk about the 2014 wheels, but fits fine with the 2010... Is the offset different?

Thanks for the quick response. If you get a chance, could you look/feel behind the tire and give a quick guess as to how much space you clear the UCA's by with your tires? I believe the offset is about the same between the wheels, though I think the wheels are a hair wider on the 2014's. I don't think that would lend itself to much of a difference though. Also, what tires are you currently running?

Yes you will be fine going straight, this is not the problem.
Try to fully turn the wheel to the right and left and than see how much clearance you have?
I have a 4th gen, and my tires rubbed on my TC UCA's with 2012 4runner Wheels at full clock only. 5th gen should be very similar.

Cranked my steering over both directions and really didn't see any change in the UCA/Tire distance . . . certainly not the "bottle neck" on my setup.
However a shot of rear portion of the tire against the back of the fender narrows to about 1 1/2" . . . depending on your tire I could see that margin easily changing.

I look at all those pockets and realize they would look dirty forever if they were on my rig.

Just did that exact lift with the same tires. The shop I went to said stock rims or 17x8s are the max you can do without having to worry. I put 17x8s on and no problems whatsoever
