Intuitive parking assist.

My 4 day old limited has this feature. Never had it before. At first I hated it because I have a narrow driveway and a narrow opening on my electric gate but then I got used to it and find it kind of helpful for being alert. Today I went to install my hitch mounted bike rack and guess what? Yep. Beeps like crazy every single time I go in reverse. Now I'm stuck deciding wether to install and uninstall the darn rack every time o want to haul a bike (huge PITA) or leave it on and deal with the noise or leave it on and turn off the park assist. I hate to lose that feature. What to do???

Just turn the assist off when you have that mounted and turn it back on when you unmount it.

Off topic, but what bike rack do you own thats so difficult to install in a hitch?

Otherwise, I'd remove the rack if you're not actively transporting bikes. I'd hate to have the damage multiplier on the back of my truck if someone rear ended me.

Intuitive parking assist.

It's a Yakima that will hold 4 bikes. It's not difficult per se just inconvenient to install and uninstall every time I want to take bikes somewhere. I have to get it out of the shed and bolt it on then repeat when I get home. That's probably an extra 15 minutes every time I use it. Either that or deal with the beeping or turn off the parking assist. Unfortunately that's probably what I'm going to do. The beeping is to much to deal with all the time and I don't want to turn it off.

The struggle is real!

I understand you though. We have the same issue with my wife's Explorer when we load up the bikes. Super annoying!

This summer I had the same issue with Father-in law Grand Caravan, was really annoying. The worst part, is that my 2 yo son started screaming everytime I've put in reverse.

If you could turn it off, problem solve!

turn it on as needed. if you look at your center dash, it will indicate which sensor is beeping.

just ignore the ones for the bike.

I use it to park in our short length garage so it helps a lot on judging distance to the wall but a pita when it snows since even a glob of slush will set it off.

I deactivate if pulling a trailer or have a hitch haul, etc on. I love that we have the option of turning them off as needed.
