Trail hood scoop.

Not trying to start a new useless thread but I tried looking but I'm not even sure what it's called...

So I ordered a trail hood for my sr5 prem. But there's nothing there. I mean there's a the shape if the scoop and everything but no...scoop? It's just a hole. Where do I get the inner part? Or what's it even called? Thanks for any help

Why would you do such a thing?

Do you like blinding sunlight in your damn retinas?

Do you like a wobbly bump in the hood that doesn't do anything?

Scoop and fasteners sold separately, on a parts diagram it is labeled "scoop."

Just when you think "hey, that scoop has not blinded me in a while" BAM full sun burning your eyes out like frickin lasers...pretty sure it is good for at least 25 internet horsepower too.

Edit for link http://www.toyotaoempartsworld.com/p...ARE&group=HOOD

Looks like a bunch of parts are required.

By inner part are you referring to the plastic insert for the front, or did you think it was an actual functional scoop? Because it's not. It's just there for looks, like some of us want.

Try here. As far as I can tell the hood hasn't changed for this model. Check out parts #18 - 25 in the diagram and list.

Sounds like a less than helpful parts guy.

Oh I agree more than that parts unknown guy. I'll take the occasion blinding glare for the looks (I hear they make sunglasses for that). I just wasn't really sure what you were needing from your original post.

Unfortunately, when I was looking to do the same for my Premium. I came to the conclusion that "Parts are Sold Sep."

Here's a link to a neighboring site with a decent right up for the 3rd Gen. I can't see it being much different then the 5th.

I have a 2015 trail and have heard lots (and was a little anxious) about the glare from the scoop. I have driven the truck for two months now and have never once been blinded by glare off the scoop. Maybe I've been lucky, maybe it's because I'm tall, maybe because I wear nice polarized sunglasses. I've never once regretted the hood and I like the way it looks.

I'm not arguing for or against, just saying that it's not a blinding failure of automotive design.

If you like how it looks - go for it!

Trail hood scoop

My 2010 Trail has a hood scoop. I think it adds rigidity to a weak spot on the hood. I have no idea what guys are talking about whan they mention glare. Black reflects the sun more than some other colors, but I don't have a problem with glare onmy black trail.

I've got a black 14 TE and have had one scenerio of bad glare. Worth it.

I never had a glare issue. I'm more annoyed at the flex in the hood when I'm on the highway. Wish it was more ridged.
