Cooper Discoverer A/T3, Nitto Terra Grappler or Grappler G2's

I'm ready to change out my stock Dunlops. Which tire should I go with?

I do not go off roading, need great mpg, great performer in rain and snow and I would like an aggressive looking tire.

Where are you buying yours? Doesn't the TRD have Nittos?

I've always been happy with Nittos ...I'd recommend the G2s.

I love how the Nitto look, but the only issue I have is that they are not on any major consumer review site. . The Coopers show up all over. Best Light Truck Tires - SUV Tire Reviews

I'm sitting at a Discount Tire right now getting the stock Bridgestones swapped out for the Cooper AT3s in the "P" rating. My buddy has the terra grapplers on his f150 and they clog up so quick in our tennessee clay dirt and don't clear well. And I'm not talking about mudding with them. Just good rain soaked ground. No previous experiences with cooper but from all the good reviews I thought I'd take my chances.

I thought that DT doesn't carry that specific tire? Don't they get a Cooper tire just made for them under a different name? What did you end up paying and did you change out your sensors or is that not needed?

Cooper AT3 at DT

Discount Tire carries both ATP and AT3. Had both, like AT3 better. Quiet, smooth, great mileage and clears mud well. Also great in snow. I got 285/70/17 P metric but have 2" lift

Please spend some time reading through this thread AT Tires

This is a question that is asked quite often. Choosing a tire based on looks is a mistake, "aggressive looking" tires don't get great MPG or perform well in rain and snow. For those requirements the least "aggressive looking" tire is usually the best option.

Even though you don't go off-road, check out this fairly exhaustive test of various all terrain tires by a leading off-road organization: Where the Rubber Meets the Road | Expedition Portal

Good luck!

They carry the ATP and AT3. From what I have read the AT3 is the better choice. I had to have my Discount order the AT3s as its not something they normally stocked.

I paid the same amount as they had listed on DiscountTiresDirect.Com with the $40 off 4 special they had going. And no you don't need new stems or sensors.

So it sounds like I should stay away from the Nittos.

Screw looks. You need a quality P-rated summer tire (mpg, rain)...

.... you live in WI, get a set of wheels and Blizzaks (snow). You can thank me in the spring.

There is no such thing as a GREAT tire in both rain AND snow. Right tool for the job, etc etc.

The Coopers get great reviews though. I'm going with those I think.

I've run most of the popular AT tires out there and now have AT3's on my 4Runner. They're easily as good as anything I've had. But I also don't think any of the brands/tires are miles ahead of another any more though. I'd pick the best priced quality tire out there and go with it.
