I've marked the wiring circuit (and power source) in RED highlighter and noted the switch with arrows. You could just run a jumper across the switch, the next time it fails, to prove or disprove it's integrity, or test for power at the rev terminal at the mirror/Head-Unit. best to you!
I hate to dig up an old thread, but I also don’t want to be accused of not searching... @rigtec do you know if the CV+/- is the video signal or the power?

I have the Axxess 12v to 6v adapter, and I am using that in @bjohnston115 harness with my Pioneer HU. I got the reverse circuit working for automatic switching, but the camera image is black. I suspect I am not putting the 6v+ on the right wire... but I was also trying to finish this all super late last night...

So I have not logged into the forum in months and i just logged in and saw this post. For 2014+ models, the 24 pin connector carriers the camera signal and power. Signal is V+ on pin 12 and Power (~6v) is CA+ on pin 11. Camera signal ground is pin 23 and Power ground is pin 24. The grounds in theory are interchangeable.

Talk about timing!

As always, thanks for your help and knowledge!

I was going to install your anytime navigation wire into the other harness (I think I own ALL of your products now), but the EnTune system crashed on me for the last time. We sold the wife's Forester, and I took the Pioneer HU out of it for the 4Runner. So, I was able to utilize your harness for the Steering Controls and the reverse wire! Thanks!

...I just need to see what I did wrong on the 24 pin harness, and I should be good to go.

Thanks!

Hi 007Tacoma,

The + and - CV is just the TV Camera/Video signal from the HU to the camera lens feed and back. The 12V power source is from the ECU-IG 1 driverside fusebox 10A fuse; which travels to the reverse/neutral position switch (on the transmission) and then to the REV terminal switch on the HU or Mirror display!

rig, cheers!

Hey @Sandman78504 I know it's an old thread, but any chance you located the source of this problem? My 2014 is doing the same thing and definitely related to the hatch opening and closing. If I open and close it several times, sometimes I can get it to come back to life from the black screen. But wanted to see if you or anyone located the problem pinch point or stressed harness before I go tearing it apart. I don't think it's the switch by the gearbox that other's have mentioned as my head unit has no problem switching to the black screen when I put it in reverse. Thanks for any light you can shine!

wanna add to OP's question:

My dash is completely blank but the touch screen still works (I can hear it beeping) and i can still control audio through my steering wheel. Is this a grounding issue or a fuse issue or just something else?
