Same part number. All 4runner track bars coming out of Icon have a bend no matter the year. Be sure when you order to ask if it is a new style track bar/KDSS compatible. Your seller can confirm with Icon via the build date. Or take it out of the box and look for a bent bar!

thanks for the update. good to hear it resolved the issue, and very interesting that ICON has now redesigned its track bar for the 4Runner (whether KDSS-equipped or not).

@ adam2562
: is the Sonoran Steel bar making contact with the rear KDSS swaybar on yours?
also: i know
@ txbonds
had the Sonoran Steel track bar on his '15 KDSS TE... did it make contact on yours (before you sold it)?
also: what have you found re: this issue of the track bar contacting the KDSS sways,
@ sschaefer3
?
thanks to all for the follow-up/thru. this information will be a helpful resource/reference going forward.

Our bar does not and has never made contact with anything on a KDSS 4Runner. 2 Weeks ago I installed a CBI bumper on a 2015 trail that has all Icon and the new bar with the bend. I can not see how that tiny bend is going to do anything. It is a 5 degree or so bend in one end. Not my product. Don't know anything about it.
I have stuffed my 2012 Trail to the max and my bar does not hit anything. It is also designed quite differently. This is why I personally own a 2012 Trail KDSS to effectively test parts.

The two mounts bolted on to the KDSS that hits the rear trac bar.. when I droop. So I am totally confused, does everyone else have this problem. Or did someone mess up on the install ? Sorry if this is patently stupid a question, but I figured asking can't hurt.
Warm Regards
Update : I called ICON and while they are looking into it, I wanted to see if anyone else maybe has a work around or knows something given my lack of comprehension of the subject matter.

I just walked out to my personal 2012 4Runner that I have been wheeling for the last 3 year with the bar I have made (our product) and there is zero paint missing from the silver bar. It has never rubbed, out product does not do this.

great to hear,
@ sschaefer3
.
(you don't seem like you are, but i want to say) please don't be offended/rankled that i brought your product into this. knowing that you have a KDSS TE, i was pretty sure your bar didn't suffer from this problem, but i wanted to know for sure, and have it called out here as an option. the fact that you've recently had hands-on with a '15 KDSS TE with the new ICON track bar is pure bonus.
i'm glad to have it documented here that the SS track bar has zero issues on a KDSS TE. i'll be buying a new, Sonoran Steel track bar and lower links in the not-too-distant future.
thanks very much for chiming in to clarify.

@ sandcrawler
there was no touching of the track bar and kdss sway bar.. it didn't even look close enough for me to worry about it in the future. buy it and enjoy

@ sandcrawler
i think the rubbing is an issue when you go long travel in the back which i don't have and has been deemed as something that can't really be done yet on the kdss equipped 4runners YET.... i yearn for a long travel kit once someone comes up with a fix

the issue doesn't seem to be related to long travel: OP reporting problem here isn't running long travel. also, if ICON has redesigned its track bar for all 4Runners (with or without KDSS) then it seems likely the problem with the (old design) ICON bar would crop up with just a regular lift.
very strange that ICON would just be learning about this now, after all these years.
kudos to Sonoran Steel. glad to hear you're happy with yours.
ps: your rear flex ain't so bad as it is!

Funny thing is that if you put longer shocks on, you will get more droop obviously. More droop means the axle goes down lower. The further the axle goes down, the shorter the links will effectively get as the axle is going to pull forward away from the sway bar, not go toward it. A stuff would actually go toward it, but with stock bump stops, that should be fine, unless the lower links are longer then stock. Then you have a problem.
I have installed several MT LT kits on FJ's and the shocks is 11" travel but it only uses around 9". All the travel is down, which means minimal up travel. It is what it is, more movement but you can go fast. I removed the rear sway bar on the FJ's and they all said they had more roll on the street, even with the higher valved shocks.
There are far better solutions to this, but none of them will be bolt on.
Another interesting fact is that Radflo, Icon, Etc call a front shock long travel. Funny thing is that the Bilstein 5100 is the same length. SO the 5100 is long travel as well, but not advertised as such. The 5100 needs an UCA for this reason as well as the LT Radflo, Icon, Etc.

that's good to know about the 5100's.. and i'm glad my UCA's are sitting in the garage now ready to go on. so i'm wondering if i wanna get an extra inch of down travel in the rear do i call up a place like 4wheel parts and tell them what shock i have and that i want one that'll drop another inch?

It's not that easy.
The shock has to have the same mounting, 3/4" Eye and Stud.
It has to be the correct valveing, valved for coils not leaf springs and for the correct weight of the truck.
With the longer extended length, will come a longer compressed length, so a bump stop correction will have to be made, so the shock will not smash the guts inside from over compression.
Radflo and King will make custom shocks, that is probably what it will have to be unless you can find something 1" longer from a similar coil spring rear end. The vehicle has to weigh close to it as well. FYI the FJ80, FJC and the 4th and 5th gen 4Runners all have the same 8.5-9" travel rear shocks. So any of those will be the same as what you already have. I think the MT LT shocks yielded 9 5/8" travel so those woudl be the 1" over. This is from memory, I have it written down somewhere.

So I went to a shop. I want the boss kit. They told me they just installed an icon lift on a 15 with kdss. They had track bar rubbing so they had to replace with the icon track bar. I want the boss kit. They told me they have not installed that yet on a 15 with kdss. they have installed it on a 15 with no kdss with no problem. They are unsure if i will need the track bar until they do install. Is this true or does anyone know if i will need the track bar with the boss lift on a 15 with kdss?? trying to avoid the extra 400 dollar part/labor.

My first post, but have reading since my wife had her 1st TE, a 2012. I installed a Toytec Boss lift on my wifes new 2015 TE w/ kdss last night. I have the same issue at full droop. I have plenty of clearance at normal ride height, but at full droop it makes contact on the track bar in two spots, both kdss sway bar mounts. Has anyone else had this issue? Has an Icon or Sonoran track bar solved the issue? Im in Mesa, Sonoran is in Tempe, I sent them an email, maybe I can see theirs in person.
Thanks

Nobody else has had this issue? I find it hard to believe everybody with lifted 2015s w/ Kdss hasn't noticed this.

I have the Toytec Boss on a 2015 TE w/KDSS...no rubbing...yet. I say "yet" because my wheeling hasn't been that hard, and I haven't heard, felt or seen any paint rubs from any rubbing. I may not ever because I am looking at a new panhard from either Sonoran or MT. I want the longer panhard to help center my rear and avoid contact.
