TRD Pro is hard to find in CA

So I have been looking around for a TRD Pro in Northern California. What a headache! The only one I could find was in Vacaville and they won't even talk me about the price. All I get is that it is a premium SUV and how hard it will be to get. I heard the same thing about my 11' FJ TT, but I ended up getting for a few hundred over invoice. Good thing is that I am not in a hurry and the new Tacoma looks pretty nice.

Lol Yeah, we had 1 TRD Pro 4Runner come in last year and before the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) was even done it was sold. Though we do sell A LOT of PreRunner Tacomas... it must be a Bay Area thing?

oh no, here in socal its easily 20-1 prerunner vs all other tacoma. i had to go to arizona to find the tacoma TRD off road i wanted, there were only 5 in all of CA for sale and all in the wrong configuration for me when i was looking.

i also had to go to arizona to get my TRDpro btw. every dealer here marked up the trd pro while 2 AZ dealers within 4-6 hr drive gave below msrp right on their site without me even talking to them.

I have a hard time with paying MSRP. I may have to do a little traveling to find a dealer that will negotiate.

CA is pretty hard when it comes to limited editions. If you want a Pro, invest the time to spend the day searching, and jump on one when you find it. They go quick, but you may be able to find one, like the Vacaville one, and go there and try to work a deal. You never know when they have the right qualified buyer there what they will end up giving in on. If you can find one in NV or AZ, I would jump on that as well.

I did go to Vacaville to try an hash out a deal and after seating down with the salesperson and they told me the price is non-negotiable, so I said "thanks" and left.

I would look at surrounding states... from what I have seen from multiple threads, it seems hard to get a TRD Pro in CA let alone a deal.

That is really arrogant of them. I am sure they will get full money for it, but the sheer fact that they risk future sales and word of mouth business to make $$ on one vehicle, is so not worth the long term bad publicity. What is the dealerships name and info? I think it would be great to start calling out bad customer service and greedy tactics to keep the consumer at the advantage. F these greedy dealerships, and F sending them business, and screw them when our voices dictate their lack of sales!

You know what really pissed me off was the fact I had just got done hiking all day at the Sutter Buttes and drove to Toyota of Vacaville to make the deal. I explained on the phone that I would be coming by to negotiate for the purchase of the 4runner. I was there for a total of 10 minutes. What a joke and big waste of time. I would have respected them if they would have just told me over the phone the price was firm.

When I bought my 11' FJ TT from Antioch Toyota they told me via email few hundred over invoice, which I was happy with.

Maybe we need a sticky thread on good and bad dealerships.

Good luck with your search! If by chance another one pops up in Fresno, let me know. I can get you a deal!
