I finally conquered Gold Mountain and took off the bucket list.
There was damage done. But it was completely my fault. I was not watching my mirrors and I backed into a tree stump on the 2nd obstacle to get a better angle of attack. On what was suppose to be the harder line. The easy line is NO longer the easy line. The line on the right ( easy line) has a DEEP rut in front of a HUGE boulder and another DEEP rut after the boulder.
The harder line is now the easy one. We had to winch my buddy up and I have to actually do a slow bump to get up.
heres some pretty pics:
and since we scrapped the paint off the new differential skids and the gas tank skids. And I received my TRD Grey spray paint. I rattle canned them when I got home. After getting an ear full from the wife about damaging the Rocky...

My buddy in his 4th Gen V8 w/ center diff lock only. Now disclaimer !!! my buddy has ten billion more experience than me ... And has done this trail with his Locked Taco 12times. And it was his first time wheeling his 4runner.
Having Issues on the 2nd Obstacle:
I had to use my winch for the first time to winch him up:
Morale of the story is the trail changes all the time ... the easier lines becomes the hard ones. because it gets used. Its a different beast every time

Harder than CBI front skids or the Gas tank Skids...
But it's the last skid I need ...
NOW !!! Im ready to tackle John Bull at the end of the month. And Gold Mountain and maybe if we have time little John Bull tomorrow...
Lol i know the pain of installing this one. I ended up using tape to hold the bolts on and then installed the diff. Made it a bit easier but was still a tight fit when trying to tighten all the bolts.

The hardest trail; I've ever done. It was basically a one on one fight. From the start John Bull didn't let up and didn't disappoint. John Bull kept throw left, rights, and boulders.
The new gate keeper has a HUGE Boulder in the middle of the gate keeper. I was very happy and excited to enter the fight.
But sadly a newly placed boulder in the IFS line at the very top. Made my tires slip and my inner tie rod gave up the ghost.
SCPO sent out all the members to look for an inner tie rod. I sent an SOS of my own. My buddy Chris Louie Sales at AK1 Motorsports sent his mechanic to the rescue. David came from San Bernardino and brought the parts with him.
The recovery took 5hrs and because of me being out of shape and winded from going up the trail. I was suffering from high altitude issues (vision blurring and feeling out of breath). And too big get in and out of the rig from where it was stuck.
I decided it was safer to ask my hired gun Bryan Quibuyen to take the wheel and bring her down. I would like to thank Filip Laccay, Ron A-Ron Andaya, Mark Santos, Louie and Lyna @ Ak1 Motorsports, SOCAL PINOY OVERLAND Group and the hero of the hour David and David Jr.
To put this at a close... I went a few rounds with John Bull and I lost. The trail basically beat me up and spit me out. I will recover from my bumps and bruise ego. Lick my wounds and maybe gather the courage to take him on again; one day. When I'm fully recovered and the scars aren't soo visible.
Entering John Bull East Gate Keeper:
John Bull's Gate Keepers Newest Obstacle. New Boulder in the middle of it:

John Bull part 3 ( This is where the FJ80 on 35's got stuck):
The obstacle had a new addition of a boulder laid down on the IFS line. My tires slipped as I was heading down the rock and my inner tie rod gave up the ghost.:
