Help with tire choice please...

I sold my previous 4Runner and bought a 2013 T4R new a few years ago and after about 40,000 miles on the stock tires I am ready to upgrade to some better tires. This is my third 4Runner so I love to turn to this site to get all of my questions answered by you guys.

Currently my front runner is the Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx. I also like the new Nitto Terra Grappler G2.

- Are there any other good looking tires that are similar to this?

- Where is the best place to order tires from for a good price?

- What is the largest tire size you suggest me buying for my stock T4R? I am not scared to trim in areas to make tires fit. I was quite proficient with the Dremel on my previous rig.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide, I am just getting back into the customization side of it again and the tire choices are daunting.

I think to an extent we all do. Form matters as well, but a lot of times people are bias towards something because of looks.

I'm a big fan of the Cooper AT3s, especially if you're not doing any hardcore off-roading. They're great in wet or dry road conditions, very good in snow, and more than enough for dirt/fire road driving.

Plus, I think they're very good looking (and relatively cheap)

Duratracs are a nice all around tire. Minimal road noise, good tread life and great offroad. They also perform well in snow and ice conditions.

Does anyone have any experience with the Cooper ST Maxx in the 285/70/17 size on a stock SR5 2013 4x4? I can see what the spreadsheet says but I know there are tons of ppl in here with real world experience that will be able to respond. Where does the rubbing happen? Can I fix it myself or will it take something more than a weekend warrior can do?

Also, what can I expect to pay, 200 per tire? 250?

and No I don't solely go on looks alone, I also take into account everything else. But looks are an important part to me.

I built that spreadsheet based on real world responses. Nobody can guarantee how much rubbing because every vehicle is different. That's why there is alignment adjustment. One guy might rub like crazy and one guy might not rub at all.

Depends on your talent level. I have worked with weekend warriors that would be at home working on an F1 team and I have worked with some that should never be allowed near a wrench or screwdriver. BMC is easy but you need to be 400 level weekend warrior. Rest of rubbing mitigation mods are 101 level.
