Daystar kit and bilstein 5100's

Hey guys i have a 2015 trail edition and i had a 2.5 front and rear daystar lift installed. Then i had rear bilsteins installed and front bilsteins installed amd set at the lowest setting. (One above stock ) is that considered okay to drive on? When the wheel is turned and i press the brakes, i hear like a click noise like a metal noise. What yall think

Since you have the Bilsteins on the front, why not ditch the front spacers and just use the shock for the lift?

You can get 2.5 with just the Bilsteins and no spacer.

And leave the spacers in the back. 1 notch above factory technically puts you at 3.35" of lift in front. Most of us stop at 3". Above that and you start talking about diff drop kits and UCA's. That noise MIGHT be your CV joints. But I really don't know.

Did you do the install correctly? All bolts torqued to the right specs? If so, sometimes suspension parts takes a few miles to settle in.

I have my front set at 2.5" and there is no issues of noise with my suspension parts like the CV joints. No noise turning driving over obstacles.

The 5100 Bilstein kit already has more down travel than factory shocks. Toyota designed a certain amount of down travel into their lower and upper control arms. If you leave the spacer kit in there and go off road you will probably exceed the amount of down travel the arms are capable of. Same for the CV joints. They have a limited amount of angle before they start bending or breaking stuff. This is why there are differential drop kits and aftermarket UCA's out there. Your springs set where they are probably won't have enough "push" downward to stretch the shocks to their limits. PROBABLY. If you stick to city streets and never go off road you MAY be okay. But you're really messing with all of the front end geometry as you currently have it. Did you get the front end realigned? Did they give you the worksheet if you did? Your caster has to be pretty close to 0 with that setup!

You shouldn't have to buy anything. I only suggest you remove the front spacer kit and set the shocks at 2.5". You'll only be losing about 3/4" overall in front lift. Or if you want to keep it that tall in front look into a diff drop kit and plan on a pair of UCA's in the near future.

I noticed in your first post that you only get the noise while turning AND applying the brakes. That may be a brake line flexing under the tension of the lift and pressing against part of the suspension when you put brake pressure on it.

It's just "inferior". Usually people use spacers to go cheap and avoid new shocks/springs. Since you already paid for the 5100's there is just no point in using front spacers over using the Bilsteins for lift.
