Should you get aftermarket upper control arms?
I came across a pretty good article on UCAs. I'll just leave this here.

The final quote of the article:
"Hopefully this serves as a helpful opinion/context piece for those of you planning to lift your Toyotas. Don’t cheap out, get some UCAs, and maintain the OEM ride quality and steering stability"
I went cheap at first, but promptly realized that the alignment, and tire wear from mis-alignment, will soon outweigh the being cheap factor.

I'd say they both have their place. Of I was crawling rocks or racing through the desert I wouldn't even consider LR. But for a daily driver mild off road rig they would fit the bill just fine

With recent threads it seems LR arent appropriate for roads that get salted either.
I still have factory UCA's, honestly its fine at 2.5" with my alignment. I will get aftermarket soon but the drivability is not bad, if I didnt drive to the mtns here so much it would be fine for light offroading.

just drive one w/o UCA's and one with a "good" UCA.... makes all the suspension money you spent worth it
your an idiot not to get UCA's

Wow thanks! At least 80% of my on road driving is spent in traffic, on occasion I can get past 65 I notice the bad alignment, but my tire wear has been non-existent. Offroad the truck is far more capable than the driver and Im still sporting factory steps, lets be honest those will drag far before I truly get to test my suspension. I hope the remaining stuff comes in soon, but again at that point Im still the constraint not the truck or parts on it.
Dont really think Im an idiot, more just lacking driving experience offroad.

sorry, that was kinda harsh.. its just some guys get on here and try to convince themselves (and others) they know better than companies who r&d this stuff.
i just saw a sweet FJ with amazing King suspension set-up down by the beach last weekend. this guy obviously dumped a ton of $$$ into his rig inside and out but still had stock UCA's?!?!
i looked at his front BFG KO's and couldnt even begin to explain the wear pattern that was happening.. i walked away laughing.
