Thule or Yakima crossbar question

Looking for some Thule or Yakima crossbars with a fairing to attach to my factory roof rails. Does anyone have experience with them? I have no idea what to look for when ordering them , because they have so many different attachment brackets and sizes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the yakima railgrab towers. They are adjustable to fit most factory roof rails. I bought some generic locks instead of the yakima brand. I have the 58inch crossbars. These work good for me and I have had no problems with them. I believe the thule bars are square where yakima's are round.

Depending on what your needs are and what you plan to haul. I have not pulled the trigger yet but I am planning on picking up the Thule Aeroblade edge bars. They are quiet yet still hold everything you may need.

I'm in the same boat. I have a kayak and Titan Rodvault I want to put on the roof and I'm thinking the factory bars may be too weak for the kayak.

Does anyone have part numbers for what we need to attach to the factory side rails?

I thought aobut just getting a new rack but that seems like overkill for what I do.

Thanks!!!

Looks like this will be the fit, and 58 inch will allow you go attach an awning if you decide to do so later down the road. Got this info off another forum. I'm about to order it now.

I've had both and like the Thule a little better. Some of it came down to looks but I think they installed better and aged better.
With our new 4R I looked at getting a Rhino rack. You could remove the factory rack and put in their tracks to mount a rack to. Nice and clean and totally adjustable and you can get it in the two or three crossbar set up. It is a little more expensive tho.

i've always preferred Thule myself; had a bad experience with Yakima long ago.

i have a set of the Thule 450 Crossroad mounts (attach to factory roof rails) kicking around somewhere. PM if you'd like them and maybe we can work something out.

I have that setup (Yakima Rail Grabs) on my Runner. Takes 10 min to attach them & they're rock solid. I only put them on when I'm hauling my boat.

Heads-up:

Thule's 450 Rapid Crossroad foot attachment wraps around the rail so it is not dependent on the T-slot like the Yakima rail-grab is.

If you are considering various attachment to your loadbars later, the "aerodynamic" loadbars are nice, but may not be as universal as the simple rectangular or round cross-section loadbars.

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

Anyone have any experience/reviews/opinions on the Thule 450R vs the 7503. I know one is integrated and the other is separate components.

Looking for recommendations?

Thanks!
