Can you add the silver Trail valance/ accent bumpers to an SR5?

I want to add the silver valance/ accents to my SR5 (along with a scoop hood!). I like the Trail model's look but needed a 3rd row, which you cant get in the Trail.

To anyone who has taken off the silver front and rear accents:

Are the slits in the bumper that the clips go into just that, a slit cut into the bumper or is it more than that? Like a block or something that needs to be there for the clips to work.

I'm wondering if the SR5 uses the same bumper, but has cut outs marked in the back of the bumper, so that all one needs to do is cut slits into the bumper then push the tabs thru to attach the accents.

Simple answer... YES...... but it is pricy and it is a lot of work (including cutting holes into your bumper.

Lot of holes need to be cut.

Not so simple. Also, those pieces are pretty expensive.

Your best bet would be to find someone who installed an aftermarket bumper on their trail

You might find someone with a trail to trade. If mine wasn't already all cut up for my winch, I'd trade you. I like the sr5 better. The biggest problem is probably shipping something that big.

+1 on painting it yourself...

a little paper tape, some newspaper...and find yourself a reputable auto paint supply...do some test runs on something plastic...and just take your time.

im no pro, but i have painted enough race bike bodywork to be able to do it effectively. then after it dries, some auto wax should clean it right up. not perfect, but nice enough to let you share the story of how you did it.

i plan to be doing the same thing to my super white SR5 also...to break up the blank looking front end. i love the aggressive looks, just liked the trails contrasts better. And i have seen plenty of other SR5 builds where others have done the same.

good luck
