2016 4Runner dealer availability?

Called a couple of dealerships but can't get a firm answer. All I get is Q3 or early Q4. Historically, when next model year gets released?
Hope to score year end discount on 2015, but can't wait till Oct/Nov as I need 4R by end of July.
Thank you

You should start seeing the 2016's on the lot in October.

I doubt you're going to get a killer deal on a leftover unless you can find a huge dealer that has a bunch of them languishing on the lot. I'm not sure such a thing even exists.

I know my local dealer is one of the biggest in the country and individual vehicles last less than a week on the lot.

I was able to get a great deal on a left over 2014 SR5 (@ $28.7K), but not until Dec 2014 after the 2015s were well introduced and selling.

but good luck with what you are looking for.

Got my '13 in November 2012.

Had to wait about two months (was looking for a 2012 in my flavor in late September 2012, but didn't have any available in the entire region). Was glad to order and wait for MY T4R (not some one else's T4R ). This is not the time to be impatient IMNSHO ;)

Also agreed - You aren't likely to get any appreciable "blowout" deals on a '15 unless the lot is chock-full of '16's. And Toyota kind of plans their supply chain so that doesn't happen to begin with (very hard to find any specific '15 in the States when '16's are headed over from Japan)...

You'll be down to the few '15 T4R's no one wanted (is there such a thing? )

Ordered 2014 in July 2014 and ended up with 2015 as that was all that was in production at that point. Build date was September 2014

Thank you for all replies. I noticed that prices in Chicago area dropped a few 100s since Jan-Feb area on SR5s. Getting all quotes under $36k, as low as $35.2. With some negotiation, hope to bring that below 35 on SR5 premium.
4Rs non limited are not very popular in this area, no full time 4x4 turns urban buyers away. This area is Jeep Grand Cherokee territory. Was hoping to score a great deal on year end model. Guess will settle for few more $100s in July.
Good luck to all and have a great weekend

Got my MY14 T4R in late November 2014, and they were pretty much brand spanking new at the time, maybe on the lot a couple of weeks. I wouldn't expect the MY16's any earlier than October, and certainly not by July. Sorry.

"Called a couple of dealerships but can't get a firm answer. All I get is Q3 or early Q4.

* Actually you did get an answer. That's all they know (seriously).

"Hope to score year end discount on 2015,

* Not gonna happen ... not if you are at all selective in color/model/options. 4Rs are on a list I read this week of the top fastest-selling vehicles (least time-in-inventory).

"but can't wait till Oct/Nov as I need 4R by end of July.

* If this is really true, and you want selection, my advice would be to be shopping soon. Any small amount of savings you get will be offset by quickly dwindling supply/choices.

My point with 'firm' answer was that dealers know exactly when non-new gen models show up. They want to push leftover 2015 before '16 show up.
As far as scoring a deal on 4R.... 4R offers a Year 2000 tech/mech equipped TRUCK without full time 4wheel drive at a premium price, not a popular combination in this part of the country - Chicago area. Not a lot of mountain/scenic trails in this area, as you know.
Since beginning of the year prices quoted to me dropped by $500-$1000. I said quoted because till I buy one it's only a quote. Plus it's a truck not a Rembrandt, prices are negotiable. Having said that some of the trucks here are almost works of art.
As I care nothing about color combination, was hoping to score some additional discounts but will have to settle for July price. I need it buy July as I have a 17 day CO trip in August and I do not want to take my wife's JGC there.
