Shrockworks in Houston is a close design to the EP1, it looks much cleaner than the ARB bumper IMO. SW in the 3rd gen and 1st gen Tacoma is the perfect fit, very nice design for it's time back in the late 90s/early 2000s, very grassroots for it's time and still a classic look. Can't stand the brushed middle plate but it can be PC black upon request

OP, can we add LFD Off Road - 5th Gen 4Runner Front Bumper - "Cut" Replacement to the list of options?

Yeah I didn’t care much for the middle brush plate on my Shrockworks front bumper either. I covered mine with a mesh grill. Here is what it looks like now.

Thanks but it’s not paint. It’s powder coating. A company called Prismatic Powders has a color that matches the Toyota Quicksand. They call it Thatch Brown. It turned out to be a great match.

I sent the powder to Shrockworks and they did it for me for a extra $100. The powder cost about $50 for 5lb. They have a lot of other matching auto colors but they use different names. But each manufacturer has a color code for their paint. If you give that to them they can find the correct color for you. Then for a few buck they’ll send you color samples. Over all I was very happy with their service. Here’s the link.

However in hindsight I would have order it as bare metal and powdered it after I got it. The reason is the part that goes under the headlights didn’t quite fit properly. If it was bare metal I could have grinded it a little to make sure it fits right then powder coat it. Also I would have powdered the bottom bracket that attaches to the frame and the water reservoir cover on the bottom left Matte black for a slightly cleaner look.

ahhh if you sent it to SW then Precision Powder Coating did the work,
Precision Powder Coating
They are one of the best in the Houston area, pretty much down the street from my kid's daycare. PPC coated my spindles w/TC gussets last week and prior to that my C4 lo pro and Tacoma wheels.
Precision can accept parts and send them back to you if you give them a prepaid shipping label.

For clarification I got the actual Thatch Brown (Quicksand) powder from Prismatic Powders in Oregon. They only make the powder paint for powder coating. They don’t do any powder coating as far as I know. However, I think Shrockworks uses Precision Powders to powder-coat their products since both are in Huston.

Does anyone have experience/review for a 4runner front bumper made by Fab Four? (Hidden Winch Mount | Fab Fours)

Its one of the few I've found that does not have d-ring mounts that stick out. Figured this is better for when I park in the garage.

There is a sale on 4wparts right now just looking for a review.

(first time poster, long-time lurker and no I'm not the vendor)

Fab Four? No thanks. Why support a big box brand known for shitty products? I'd rather support a small fab shop like Shrockworks, C4, SSO, Victory, LFD, etc etc. I'd also like to see the internal frame, bracing, welds, on the Fab Fours being even considering them. Are the Fab Four shackle mounts welded inline with the frame or bracing?

The shackle/recovery mounts on lo-pro bumpers don't actually stick out that much, maybe 2" at most. It's negligible and shouldn't prevent you from fitting into or parking in a garage. The Shrockworks and C4 lo-pro mounts the shackles on the lower angled portion so they are not the most forward point.

Who makes the lightest front end replacement?

Not wanting to run a winch at this time, just a little more protection and recovery points.

Full bumper or hybrid.

Teach me the ways.

I've been looking around for the same, I'll probably be keeping my $ in Canada with this option because shipping & conversion from US would likely double the bumper cost

Maybe this was already mentioned somewhere in the 11 pages of this thread but I thought it may be helpful to you. If you need/want a rubber lining around the plastic where it was cut to help straight it up or like the looks, one option is McMaster 8507K16 neoprene. $15 for 10’. This is what one of the bumper manufacturers sends out with their kit for 5th gen.

Do you guys think it is a good or bad idea to use the rubber lining?
