Suspension Guidance

Call me confused. . .I've searched for this particular scenario but can't find a definitive answer.

I want to firm up the suspension of my 2015 TE, but I don't really want additional lift. I'm signed up for the lift group buy. . .the Bilstein option which includes new Icon rear springs. My understanding is that the new rear springs will provide a 2" lift by default. . .don't want that.

If I go with 6112/5160 and leave the stock springs in the rear, will I achieve a firmer ride without lift? If not, how would I go about achieving my goal? Or am I mistaken about the Icon springs "automatically" providing additional lift?

I did just change the stock Dunlops to Firestone Destination ATs in 275/70/17. The nose dive is slightly reduced, and the tires fill the wheel well a little better. Very happy with this change so far.

The Icons will lift by 2" so if you don't want lift don't get them. I don't know of any stock height springs that are firmer since this would force them to be shorter and they wouldn't stay seated.
Firm up is kind of vague, firmer shocks will stop body roll and bounciness but not sag or droop under load.
Just from what you seem to be saying I'd think you would probably be happy with stiffer springs up front with adjustmable height shocks and better shocks in the rear with stock springs.
You might also consider airbags in the rear if you need some stiffness with loads and or towing.

Thanks Swarty. Reducing bounce and roll is what I'm trying to accomplish. If at some point in the future I need to offset for sag, I can swap out the rear springs then. Thanks for the input...

I have 5100's and they helped with the roll and brake dip. I would also like to know if anyone has a firmer front spring that doesn't lift the front of the vehicle.

The 6112/ 5160 on mine did firm up the ride, but not harsh.. nose dip and roll definitely reduced as I've mention in my thread.. currently have the 6112 on 2nd notch showing ~+1.27" lift up front, and rear 5160 with OEM springs showed ~+0.2"

I'm interested in the same thing, so I ordered up some 5100's and will install soon. I didn't peek if you had a signature, so I assume you don't have KDSS. From what I have heard KDSS takes lessens the body roll and diving under braking.

The thicker sway bars on KDSS models reduces body roll, but has nothing to do with brake dive.

I installed Bilsteins all the way around. I think this is what you want. Reduces bounce and dive and body roll. You want to upgrade shocks regardless. If you want a stiffer ride airbags could help too but you won't be going backwards by upgrading your shocks, you will still be heading in the right direction.

The O/P is looking for a firmer ride without a lift. Me too.
The 5100's help and do make it a much better ride but I would like to eliminate more of the brake dive without lifting the car.
Anyone have a solution?
