2014 4runner limited lift and chrome question.
I am looking at a black 2014 limited right now and if the dealer gets me out the door at 39k I will probably jump on it asap. My questions are about the chrome and lifting limiteds. Has anyone de chromed a limited or painted the chrome black? I do not like the chrome at all I think it looks tacky and flashy esp for a off road SUV. And is it hard to lift the limiteds? I heard a few different things about it being difficult to lift limiteds and that you shouldnt? And does anyone else have a black 4runner? I told my self I would never own a black vehicle again after my camaro because of what a pain in the ass it is to keep it clean and scratches away, but black just looks so much better imo.

Lots of people have de-chromed and lifted Limiteds. Lots of info on how to do it if you search through the forum and lots of options for both.
Folks here are good at helping you decide between the options. Why do you want to lift it? Just for looks or do you need some extra ground clearance or room for bigger tires?

looks and bigger tires. I also go off roading when I get the chance. I would like to make it look less like a grocery getter and more like a 4runner lol. thanks for the links!

Right on, you can do a lot with the stock suspension.
@ Miguelon
here is running a newer Limited with X-REAS and it is certainly very capable. A spacer lift on X-REAS is the only way to lift without replacing the stock shocks, there are no aftermarket plug and play options that work with X-REAS so you do lose the cross-linking benefit of X-REAS on road if you pull it out and replace it with something aftermarket.

Yeah.....Discount tire agreed to give me a new set of wheels and tires once they discovered that the OEM rims were not to spec with the tires they mounted. And the Trial hood is courtesy of a huge tree limb that fell about 40 feet and landed on my hood. The only issue is that I may like the matte black look, so I am rethinking a lot of stuff.

Looks great! Just a heads up with matte black and off-roading... Regardless if it's a vinyl wrap or painted you will get a ton of scratches that you will not be able to remove.

Thanks! So you would advise against it? Just paint it all back to Attitude Black?

I would probably avoid it but it's totally up to you. Just want to make sure you are aware that scratches on matte finishes can't be polished out so to speak. Vinyl needs to be reapplied and paint refinished to get them out.

I have begun negotiations to sell an "UnLimited" aftermarket package.
But IF I was going to sell mine, it would be for a stupid ridiculous amount of money since I really don't want to see her go......
