Yes mine have the same whine. Gets quieter as they warm up. I have had the kit probably 4 years and it's always done it.

Paragon1, the HIDs look great! What did you do with the high beams and fogs? Thanks. Cheers!

I'm getting ready to buy a set of HIDs, but I'm a bit confused with the exact bulbs i need. I know H11, however, TRS offers an H11B which is said for Japanese vehicles. Is this an important issue due to having a 2015?

So, you suggest a ~4300k HID for wet roads?

I had a hard time in the rain with the stocks and yellow/orange street lights on the highway. My beam seemed to disappear due to the color similarity and the wet surface.
Yes, 4300HID had the best overall performance when the roads were wet. Color-wise I'm still partial to the LED, but the bluish tint works against you when it's wet.

Just give the guys at XenonDepot.com a call. I think it's just the standard H11 but I'm no expert.

Thanks. I just ordered the XD HIDs with 4300k Phillips bulbs off of their site. FWIW, it looks like you save a couple dollars on THEIR site using code XD15 and get free 2 day shipping compared to the site linked (KBcarstuff) in their sig.

Cool, if you've lifted the vehicle just make sure to re-aim the headlights lower! I may have pissed off a few drivers at first...

Sorry for the late reply guys, but I just saw this thread.

@Paragon1 - Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad that you're happy with the H11 HID kit. You will notice that the Philips 4300k bulbs will color shift after approximately 100 hours. They will reach color temperatures of roughly 4700k once they do.

The pictures you posted certainly show quite a difference in the light output.... Although, The HIDs really look that yellow compared to the LEDs... Did you find that the case in "real-life," or is more of a camera thing?

@etc. - Enjoy your new lights

@Lexusbstrdchild - Thanks for the feedback! It's always nice when a member can comment on a product after they've had it installed for several years

@stamonkey - The whine is perfectly normal. It will subside considerably once the ballasts warm up.

Regards,

Steve

They're not quite as yellow in real life but it's noticeable. Given the amount of rain we've had here in Florida I'm kinda liking it. Looking forward to seeing the color shift and will update with a pic once it's noticeable

Out of curiosity, do the 5000k bulbs shift over time as well?

@stamonkey - No, this only applies to the Philips 4300k bulbs.

do your lights have a tendency to only have one side come on with these HID? Then having to turn them off and turn them back on for both sides to fire?

I have had couple of toyotas with HID and they seem to all do this with different brands. (camry, solara, corolla, older 4runner) Just wondering if these new 4runners do it as well.
