For the guys that have the CBI brackets. What do you prefer on optics, flood or spot? Just curious how flood looks with glare from the hood vs how spot would look. If any has pictures from the inside with them on would be awesome!

Install / Hood Gap Question
Do these brackets require modification or trimmer of either the vehicle's under-hood plastic or the bracket to remedy the hood gap issue discussed on this forum, or does this product solve for that?
tl;dr: can I just bolt 'em on or is some work required?

A tight spot like Vision X Light Cannon, MRT LuxMaster, Rigid Hyperspot or Baja Designs Hi-Speed Spot. The tighter beams will reduce hood glare. The new Rigid Side Shooters are excellent if you want a true ditch light with light off to the side.

Yes, you have to trim your plastic cowl slightly. If you go to CBI's website and click "Install Instructions" it shows you step-by-step what you'll need to do.

I'm concerned about fitment issues with the power antenna. I think the duallys from rigid fit fine, but I don't know about the other brands. I know the MRT equivalent of Vision X's light cannons rub on the whip antenna. This is something I don't want. Reference this thread:

i had them with Piaa's. The antenna rubbed the cover.I have then still if you want to buy a set.

TotalAutomotiveLV, a couple of questions before I purchase,
To get even more light down range, Baja Designs offers the XL Sport (Spot Pair PN 56-7801) / XL-R Sport (Spot Pair PN 57-7801) & XL Pro (HS Spot Pair PN 50-7801) / XL-R Pro (HS Spot PN 53-7809) models. The XL or XL-R (Round face) put out the light of an 8" HID with the smooth spread of an LED. With 4900 lumens per light, this is the brightest offroad LED light system this size on the market by far.
Is it both XL Pro and XL sport that produce 4900 Lumens?
Also do you sell the XL80? is it the same size with 9500 Lumens?

The XL80 is the same size housing as the XL Pro & Sport models.
XL Sport - 1,800 Utilizing 4 Cree XP-G2 LEDs @ 20w
XL Pro - 4,900 Utilizing 4 Cree XP-L LEDs @ 40w
XL Racer - 4,300 Utilizing 4 High Intensity Unnamed LEDs @ 40w
XL80 - 9,500 Utilizing 4 Cree Unnamed LEDs @ 80w
Remember, Lumens are not a very good judge of useable light output and are a theoretical number most of the time. Example, the racer makes 600 less lumens than the XL Pro but throws light an average of 40% further than the XL Pro.

Weve fit 6.7" cannons at 5lbs and the Baja Designs XLs on them with no problems.

Dragging this back from the dead.
Has anyone done an install where you have a 3 way selector switch? I want a toggle to turn on Left Only - Both - Right Only in addition to an On/Off switch. I haven't seen anything like this yet. I'm guessing this will be a pair of switches on the low voltage side of a pair of relays?
