TPMS compatibility question

I am trading in my SR5 for a new 2015 LE and will take a delivery in two weeks. So I stopped today at dealer's and tried to order 17" gray TRD wheels for my truck and new tires. I told part's manager that I want to use the original TPMS on my new wheels, but he stated that he is not sure that they will be compatible.
I hope that some of the forum members will be able to help me to get the answer (already happened few times before, lol).
Also parts manager was not sure that I can put 17" TRDs on Limited, but from what I read on this forum about 20" wheels on Limited (probably 500 pages of posts), there should not be any issues...
Thank you in advance

Suggest you talk to someone better informed. He is wrong on both counts.

However, what will you do with the 20"ers off the new LE? Will you leave them w/o TPMS sensors? The tire has to be broken off the rim to remove them, leaving them useless until new TPMS are installed. If you plan to separate and sell the tires from rims then it doesn't matter so much.

I am going to put tires and 20" wheels without TPMS for sale on CL here and if no takers-they will go to eBay. Do you think that i'll be better off to leave TPMS with the 20" wheels and tires and offer them as a 100% package? I do not have a problem with buying another set of TPMS...

No way to know what a buyer will want; a pkg, just the wheels, just the tires. It's a dice roll. I don't think many ppl expect tpms' when they buy take offs. Keep yours and deal with it on the resale if you have to.
