Aftermarket Suspension Routine Maintenance

What do you do for routine maintenance? I have an Icon lift front and back as well as LCAs from TC. Should I be greasing the parts on a semi-regular basis? Specifically the uniballs. What about joints/bushings/ect? I don't trust myself to be take anything apart but was curious what everybody does to prevent excess wear and tear.

Triflow on uniballs and spherical bearings as often as I think about it, grease for bushings every oil change. The spherical bearings on top and bottom of shocks wear out and need regular replacement, and shocks need rebuilt.

If you have shin guards, clean them out regularly so that any moisture in the crud won't corrode your shafts. You can also spray some lube on the section of the shaft that doesn't get normal use. +1 on lubricating the uniballs, mine got severely corroded. Depending on use and climate, complete rebuilds will be necessary at some interval. I have yet to blow a seal between the shaft and reservoir but blew 3/4 internal floating piston seals. 1 shock had no leaks so all I did was do a fluid change.

Thank you. I had both rear and front driver rebuilt ~3 months ago. The front driver spherical bearing (Demello called them heim joints. same thing?) fell to the ground in pieces when they took it apart. I have synthetic bushing up front. Same care required?

Any recommendations on products to use? So far nothing has been squeaking on my ICON stage 2 but I do want to make sure it gets taken care of properly.

Heim is often used interchangeably*. I imagine the Icon UCAs have zerk fittings at the bushings. You may want to check with what Icon recommends, but Total Chaos recommends SuperLube grease, and that is what I use.

* My understanding, a heim is a threaded rod end with a spherical bearing in it

A spherical bearing or uniball is the same type of bearing, but can be pressed into a multipart rod end or used in other applications, such as in place of ball joints, or as shock mounts.

Triflow seems to be highly recommended, and what I use.
