Wrapped my Grille in black Vinyl

Firstly, I would like to say hi to everyone as I am new to the forum. I've had a handful of Tacomas but never a runner.

I love the look of the TRD pro front end. Sadly it isn't available in Canada. I had a hard time justifying the $800 for the front grille pieces from Toyota so I got it wrapped. I'm very happy with the outcome and will be blacking out the emblems next.

Hello and welcome from Northern BC. Wrap looks good, did you do it yourself?

Thanks! Not this one no. I've wrapped a few simple things before but this was too technical in a couple places. The dealership I work at has an in house Tint/wrap/3m guy that did it for me. Took him about 45min

Looks nice!

I am looking at wrapping my cracked non-airbag containing dash, but with carbon fiber vinyl. But I might think of some other things to wrap too.

Links are on my pseudo build thread at Giro's 92 V6 odds and ends

Looks great. Curious if you could provide a few closer up photos - especially of the areas where the vinyl meets the paint. Does it adhere pretty nicely?

looks good, just curious why go with wrap instead of painting it?

The lower wrap on the lip won't last. I had mine done and it chipped up quite a bit in a small amount of time. Finally just went with the TRD valances. Looks good though.

I had this same wrap on my Tacoma lower valance and it had no issues in the 3 years I owned it. I guess it depends what product you are using. We have wrapped entire vehicles with this product and they still look great a couple years later.

But I guess it it does look bad over time, I can just reapply it.

Cost mostly.. This was about $20 of material and is reversible but still will last as long as I want (within reason). If I sell it, I can just peel it off.

Haha yeah wrapping is definitely a skill and you need the right amount of heat for the tough spots. I can only do real basic stuff.
