Figured I could start one of these to help keep track of everything.
I had a 2010 Tacoma before this that was built up a lot. It became a little impractical for daily driving and family plus the back seat got too small for my son. I learned a lot from that truck and still miss it but I LOVE my 4 runner. Plan is to do some mild mods and still try to keep weight and gas mileage in mind along with practicality and day to day family duty.
Old truck
New rig. 2015 4 runner trail. Bought new with 81 miles on it. Dont have many pictures of it stock since it was raining when I bought it and we had rain pretty much every day of till June this year.
First mod was actually a set of Spidertrax wheel spacers. Kind of an unexpected mod and happened on a set for cheap. Put them on and liked the look.
Shrockworks step sliders were added a few days later.
A week or 2 later new tires were installed. As much as I wanted an aggressive mud terrain I knew it was not practical for my goals to set this up more towards overland/expedition purposes. I went with the new BFG KO2 AT in stock size, 265/70/17. Really like this tire for road manners, offroad performance and wet traction are all great.
Time for its maiden voyage. 2015 Lonestar Jamboree!

After Jambo I realized more ground clearance and better skid plates made the list of things needed.
Came across a good deal on a RCI front skid since it had a hole drilled in the wrong spot but was corrected.
Fast Forward 3 years and this thing has changed A LOT. No longer daily driven so I got more aggressive with the mods.
