I don’t worry about prevention so much- since it’s a losing game. One of my buddies is a K9 handler and shared a great tip with me.

Rather than try and vacuum hair out, instead get compressed air, open every door- and blast it out of there. It works great and saves a 💩ton of time. Many DIY car washes. Ow offer the air setup for free and it’s amazingly effective.

This drapes over the rear leather seat and the memory foam bed to contain all the water and debris the dogs bring in and out. Works great!

Just curious what size seat cover did you choose the only options they give for the back seats are small medium and large with no specifics as to what would fit a 5th gen

I went with the Canvasback as well, and while it's a great product and will save the carpet, it is slippery back there for the dog. I found a rectangular dog bed that takes up about half the space back there, and we keep some collapsable storage bins on the other side so there's nothing sliding around, and it works really well.

Man, with the 3rd row seats option, the cargo room in the back of 5th gens is kinda underwhelming...

Dog Proofing my new 4Runner?

Just ordered one of these cargo liners from Treatadog.com. They have a great sale going on and their quality has been very good in the past. I have a dog bed from them and its really nice. I figured its great for hauling anything around in the back and keeping it clean.

Ok they all look insane in this picture

I have the same generic cargo liner that I see in several pics here. It’s good, but I think I’d like to upgrade to the more substantial covers.

The cargo divider....yes, has left some marks on the headliner. It’s 1/100th of the damage that would have been caused by the black lab in this pick if I didn’t have it

Quick follow up. I received the Treatadog.com cargo liner and fit and quality is great. For the price cannot beat. Will definitely use this more than just when hauling the dog. Just quick snap around the rear headrests and unfold.

You will want a cargo liner. I had dogs in their once and the seat plastic was very scratched.

I have had GSDs and a Belgian Malinois now. I've tried every create made under the sun. I've also tried not using a crate in the vehicle (NOT RECOMMENDED).

Here's what I recommend:

Buy a Gunner Intermediate kennel. It fits like a glove in the back of the 4runner. Rock solid, never moves and the dogs aren't scared of jumping in because the door is sooo big. I wasted tons of $$$$ on lesser products, trying to avoid spending the cash.

How has your cloth seats held up with the poodle? Did you put any seat covers on? I’d prefer to not buy any seat covers because I like the look of the stock cloth seats Best
