RCI Rock slider install instructions?

Hey everyone, I recently ordered a full set of skids and a set of rock sliders from RCI. Everything except for the rock sliders came with instructions. Does any one know if there is a write up some were on this or if RCI posts them online somewhere . I did look around on the Internet a bit but did nothing t come up with much. Thanks.

They're direct bolt on so try lining them up and bolting them on...

Let's see some pics. Mine should be coming Monday.

I'd give them a call Monday if you can't figure it out. Maybe @joshp767 can chime in for you.

While that may work, it's still kind of ridiculous to sell a product without any install instructions.

Ok I'll give instructions

Step 1: remove from shipping package

Step 2: line up with existing frame holes that match up with slider mounting points

Step 3: take supplied bolts, push through slider mounting holes and go through frame holes

Step 4: screw on nut to back of bolt and tighten. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all slider mounting points are bolted up.

Step 5: repeat the above steps for second slider. When done come back to this thread and say instructions weren't really required.

lol, wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?

more times than not, there will be bolts of varying length, the gas tank may or may not need to be dropped, holes may need to be drilled, kdss lines may need to be removed, etc.

asking for instructions is not as ridiculous as you're attempting to make it seem. there are threads posted up here all the time with people running into road blocks trying to install their sliders.

We are just talking about the RCI brand sliders here and not Shrockworks or another correct?

If so then I don't really understand why someone would need instructions if they're bolt on. That's like saying my headlight bulb replacement or beadlocks didn't come with instructions. Because they literally just bolt or snap on.

Same goes for skids. Why the hell would anyone need instructions for those? Bolt on as well. Place skid over existing points and bolt in....that's it. Feel like people these days always are trying to find the easy button for everything

Jeez, some ones a little grumpy. I just thought it would be nice to give the directions a quick once over before installing. Maybe inferno1 is a master mechanic but I am not. I have installed skids and rock rails on other vehicles in the past and sometimes things are not as simple as they seem. At least not for some one like me who is not very experienced with working on vehicles.

I think you're still under estimating what bolt on slider installation may entail. Most require the gas tank to be dropped, which instructions would be helpful for. And, a lot of the times they use different length bolts in certain areas.

Not to mention, the RCI site says it comes with installation instructions, so expecting them isn't out of the ordinary.

All that said, I hope the installation is as simple as you're making it out to be. I just haven't seen a pair of sliders on a 5th gen that were that easy yet though.

Sliders are some of the easiest things to install. At worst I've had to drill a hole or two on each side. Nothing really in the way to worry about.

Like I said line them up and check it out. Go from there

Issues call Josh

Agreed. Even if the instructions prove to be, in fact, as simple as this thread's master salesman's statements above, it still builds confidence in your customer if you supply them ... if only to manage their expectations about what it should take to install the product.

Very funny.

I didn't receive instructions for my OPOR sliders. It was self explanatory.

I didn't receive instructions with my used Bud built sliders. By myself.... I used a floor jack and a five gallon bucket to get them under there and somewhat lined up to see what had to be done for the install. Realized the gas tank skid had to come off. Removed it. Next day my friend came to help me lift them up and bolt them on. Took us maybe 45 minutes. 12 bolts each slider. Easy day. I am not a master mechanic.

Installed mine earlier, before you start, remove the bolt holding the front brake line on both sides, then line them up with something holding them up, then put bolts where ever you see thread. Best to buy a few beers and ask your friends to help. Was able to do this in 45 min with 2 guys.

My frame rails have pre-tapped bolt holes on each side, so no nuts required. Unless there are more bolts than pre-tapped holes.
