I could have sworn the WildPeak LT's were 18 but I can't remember exactly. Edit, just saw the pic, looks like 16.

My BGF K02's load C were 14, manufacturer said they were 15. I guess close enough, maybe my guage was a little off.

So which tire is worse for acceleration?

Heavier but smaller diameter LT275/70 load range C or the lighter but bigger diameter 285/70 p-metric?

It looks like 17 vs 18 advertised, same as all others I have seen.

They all seem to be 1/32 less at the start, not sure why. Not sure what and how is measured but for personal use it seems useful to just subtract 1/32 from whatever is advertised.

Next time I go to Discount Tire, I should use my gauge to see if this is indeed true across the board for AT tires

Just installed, no rubbing whatsoever rides like stock, cant tell about the noise but will update. Just drove it 4 miles shop to home in Nj pothole cursed roads. 275 no lift.

So at full cranked turn backing up or making a U turn no Rubbing and you have a SR5 4X4 275/70/17 on stock rims do you have mud flaps or gaurds ? thanks

I don't remember the exact measurements, but I can say that the load range E on my 4Runner are much deeper after 30k miles than the brand new P's on my Dads Jeep. I was surprised because its actually a pretty big difference.

What are people running for tire pressure with the P285/70R17? I started at 34/35psi but have since adjusted down to 31, might go down to 30 or would that the to low. It seemed like when I was running 34/35psi the outer edge on the front wasn't making contact with the road and was starting to feather a little bit.

The size should not matter. I run 33 normally on and offroad with 35-36 for long highway trips. My outer edges have a tiny bit more tread than the rest but the difference is negligible.

Do a chalk test.

Buy some kids oversized chalk they use on driveways

Over inflate you tires

Find a flat parking lot

Cover a section of tread side to side with the chalk.

Rolled it one or two revolutions

Look at the chalk. You want it to just barely be touching at the edges of your tires. Keep deflating until you reach this. This will be your running temp.

Of course what sucks here is the 4R does not show the psi for each wheel in its stock set up. Sooooo....get the tires up to temp and lower them to your new psi setting.

Then you can check your psi in the morning or whenever the tires are completing cooled down for your cold psi setting.

Finding the right psi for your rig based on its weight and tire is going to give you the best ride, tire longevity, reduce cupping. Just be sure to rotate AT tires every 5k or so. I have gone 60k on Duratracs 33” on my JK doing this with completely even tire wear and zero cupping. 4R will get the same treatment.

Do not fill to tires rated max psi. The factory psi will only be a rough target, added weight, different tires, extra plys, etc play a big role. Also bigger the tire the more air, so temps outside play a bigger role. Real bummer the 4R does not provide this display! I will be upgrading to a new head unit, and getting this info is a big part of that. I can feel a difference in ride when they are only 2-3 psi over target.

My tpms in the dash came on after about 20 miles driving, was wondering what psi do guys run with these tires on 275 sizes. I checked and the shop put 40 on all four corners think thats what triggered it?

Definitely the 275C for me but they did absorb more bumps and provided a softer feel of the road.
I'm glad I swapped them for the 285P I needed freeway boost. For the three trips I took they perform well off road. I just wish I had bought lighter wheels for less rotational mass.
