Awesome! Then it’s confirmed this tire is a solid performer even in that size. I will say 265 did better being more narrow but I’m impressed.

For those of you who own a 2020 TRD Pro and may not have noticed the conversation happening in another thread; apparently currently it is not possible to properly program the TPS’s on the new TRD Pros on anything other than the OEM tires.

It is always great to provide a link which I believe is this one

2020 TRD Pro Updates - Army Green & Push Button Start

and this one is referred to

2020 4Runner TPMS Sensors Not Linking Up | Toyota 4Runner Forum [4Runners.com]

They are discussing two problems: one with new OEM sensors and another with NON-Toyota TPMS sensors

"Finally a guy at Discount Tire said that the new Toyota's have a different pairing program that they have not gotten a download for their programmers yet. They expect it in early January of 2020. So, I took mine to a Toyota dealer and they re-paired the sensors to the 4runner using their equipment. It does work and they did try to say the sensors were bad but relinking them to the vehicle does work. I took the receipt back to Discount Tire and the manager handed me my $180 spent to have Toyota fix it. He said he would and honored his word."

"If you can keep your oem ones, or just buy new oem. My tire shop got my clones and they don't work for 2020's... yet. Their tool doesn't even have a 2020 listing yet."

Just to be bluntly clear, tires have no bearing on TPMS sensors. @teotwaki explains it correctly above.

Just picked up 10 on Amazon at 97.15 each. Going to put them on the 4runner and my Wrangler. At that price how could I not.

P285/70R17 weigh 50.49lbs.
LT285/70R17 6 ply weigh 62.80lbs.
LT285/70R17 10 ply weigh 58.86lbs.
LT285/75R17 10 ply weigh 65.48lbs.

Why the 6 ply LT285/70R17 weighs more than the 10 ply is beyond me, but these figures are straight from Falken.

My understanding is that the heavier ones use older metal belts and the lighter ones reflect higher strength material that is more lightweight. I also believe that is why they're really firesaling these tires - new models all use the newer lighter material. I could be wrong, but I've seen that repeated now a few times on these tires in social media posts.

I only have 11k on my LTC KO2s, but I’m thinking of picking up a set of these to keep around until the BFGs wear out. It’s hard to pass up a set of tires for <$400. Hmmm...
