Nice work! I checked every location within 100 miles and none were in stock, but I was also trying to score some 285/75R17s

yeah as I was checking out the lady ringing me up asked me how I knew about this because her manager thought it was a pricing glitch and was initially cancelling orders.

I was one of at least 3 sets waiting to be picked up.

Damn, hella score man. Did they call or email you when your order was ready to be picked up? I technically haven't gotten my cancellation email or call yet so here's to hoping!!!

I got a call.

I even had them say back to me what tires they had that were waiting for me.

I pre ordered them and set it to pay at store at 3 different locations and 1 out of the 3 had them in stock while the other 2 immediately cancelled.

Ive had the 265/70/17 in the SL load range for about 2 years and 20k miles. this tire has performed great in rain, snow , sand and dirt fire roads. never used on rocks. very little wear and no balance issues . Tough tire to beat for the price. I would buy again.

Will these tires lower your MPG, or do only the E rated tires do that?

Living in Canada, I’m running a dedicated winter tire set so snow performance is just a bonus if I ever get caught in a storm before I switch over. My set was manufactured 28th week of 2020 in the Thailand plant.

This thread is full of good information and definitely helped me in my decision but I wanted to share some more information that I was never able to readily find.

1 - What do these tires actually f@cking weigh?

Falken's website states 46.5lbs which his HEAVY. Heavier than most LTC tires and likely the heaviest P-Metric SL tires in that size. When looking at their size and weight specs one can’t help but wonder if their numbers are off.

Spoiler alert, they are!

My bathroom scale measured 45lbs for each tire the first time. I measured them again and they each came in at 44.6lbs. The shipping label had them weighed at 44lbs. I have verified the accuracy of my scale with weights and it appears to be accurate within .2lbs.

Conclusion: The Wildpeak P265/70R17 actually weigh between 44lbs and 45lbs, call it 44.5lbs.

Definitely not 46.5 as stated on their website.

2 - Are they taller or wider than stock tires?

I had the stock Dunlop AT20's removed before I took delivery, with less than 2 km on them.

Corner to corner of the tread contact patch, the Falkens measure 8 3/4", and the Dunlops measure 7 3/4". The Falkens are definitely more squared off, and the tread contact patch is much wider, but the tires are similar widths overall at their widest point.

As for height, they're within 1/8" overall, not much difference there.

The Falkens look WAY cooler though

Great job putting this post together - it needs to be a sticky here.

Accurate and helpful info all around.

Thanks!

Basically any tire made for off-road will lower your mpg
the stock tires are an on road tested for corporate mpg ratings
But the compromise is well worth a better overall tire

4th Gen been running them for 6 months. I went from E Rated 285/70/17 KO2's to AT3W SL Rated 285/70/17.

Been through pretty good mud trails / snow in NJ / roadtrips to Raleigh and Nashville.

Probably the best tire I've bought for this truck. Decently light and great traction in snow and rain. Going down 95 at 80+mph they handle the rain and snow really well.

I would highly recommend them.

I've had the E-load 285-70's on mine for just shy of 50k miles and have ZERO complaints. They've never left me stuck or questioning the road conditions anywhere, whether it's rain, snow, ice, or mud. When these get replace pretty soon, likely sometime this year, I plan to bump up to the 285/75.
This picture wasn't taken with the intent of getting a good shot of the tire, but this is a fairly recent picture (in 2021), and shows how well they've worn after close to 50k even with a pretty good bit off-roading.
