Trd pro lift question

OK, I need some help with deciding what to do. I have the TRDPRO and am very happy with pretty much everything about it....but, I want to be able to fit 33's.

So here's my question:

Do I leave it alone and don't mess with it?
Do I simply add a kit like the daystar DYT-KT09134BK-3 or the REVTEK REV-432X-3?
Or do I completely remove the TRD suspension and replace it with an icon, king, or fox setup.

Really would like to have 33's on it, but at the same time didn't want to remove the TRD from the Pro.

285s or 33's will potentially rub on a stock pro.

You can fit a 275/70 like @Warpath did

Do you plan to really use the rig on trails and offroad, or are you more looking to just get a larger tire on there? Usage will determine the best suspension option for your needs.

Yes, I love going off road, but nothing too extreme...and least not yet. But when I decide to, I want to know that I can.

A 2.5" Coilover system from any of the manufacturers above will give you the height you need to fit a 285 tire, as well as give you some more offroad performance.

So no to spacers and keep the TRD system intact?

I wanted to lift mine too but after a few hours of lurking the forums I had come to the conclusion that we payed extra money for the TRD tuned suspension so why go and dump more money into something that works perfectly well. I hit up some pretty rough mountanous trails in my area and the stock ride height and suspension handled surprisingly well.
You know the saying, If it ain't broke...

Put the 285's on there and you will probably need to remove mudflaps and trim the front bumper.
Or just leave it and enjoy. The difference between 265's and 285's is about 1", so you are really only gaining 1/2" more clearance.

You need to get your butt out to the desert behind the M Resort. Take Las Vegas Blvd all the way to the BLM where everybody goes shooting and just keep going past them. There is some of the best off-roading I have done. I wouldn't even think about doing it without some seriously strong sidewalls because those rocks will tear you up. You also have miles upon miles of rolling hills and soft silt to really put those TRD PRO shocks to the test which is what they were pretty much intended for. God I miss living in Vegas.

I have a stock 3rd gen limited with 265's on. I barely scrape stuff. You will be surprised just how cable that PRO is when you cut on crawl control and let it work

I've always had a lift on my trucks, and so I decided the trdpro is something I wouldn't have to touch. However went up to a place I always took my other 3rd gen and noticed the bottom scraped a little where my 3rd gen never did...

That's what got me thinking about it. If I install the daystar kit, how will it affect the trd suspension? Has anyone else done this? or is it just foolish? I know there have been a few trd owners who completely removed the trd and went with icon, but Im really trying to see if I can keep the trd and just add those spacers.......Im torn.

Not till the end. Go past the "M" until you get to the shooting area which will be on your left. You can't miss it. There's always people out there shooting. I would say its 10 miles past the resort.

What about Broken Arrow in sedona? Will the stock setup be able to make it without shopping for a new bumper afterward? Had a blast last time I was up in that area. That was my old limited...loved that thing.

I had a customer that was in your exact situation. He wanted to fit 285/70r17 tires but did not want to just trash the TRD Pro suspension. He ended up going with a Icon front leveling spacer up front PT#IVD4100SD this part bolts on top of the factory upper strut mount, and a ToyTec 1.5" rear spring spacer. He now has plenty of room for 285/70r17
