Why are you replacing pads at 30k?

Many have reported +70K with pad left. When I say many I mean the majority of people who have posted in multiple brake pad threads in the past.

You may want to consider switching to S-mode to hold it in 2nd or 3rd, depending on the grade, if possible.

Maybe, but I start the truck immediately give it a little gas just to get going so it can warm up and recirc the oil as I cost down the hill in "D". Its only brake pad, so it gets change. Not a big deal.

i just bought a 2011 trail CPO with 35,000 miles on it and they had to replace the front pads and rotors in order to certify it. When i got It home i took of the rear wheels and saw the pads were low so they gave me a set to put on. Either the previous owner drove with two feet and rode the brakes or maybe there was a bad batch of pads that some people got. Happens all the time with manufacturers.

Normally I would agree but I think when it comes to pads you have to remember this really depends on driving habits and drive environment. I do a lot of city driving and had to replace front pads at 35K rear at 50K.

I will agree that the stock pads are way better than any thing else you could get.
