Hercucles Terra Trac 2 AT VS Nitto Terra Grappler G2

I am about to grab some new tires. There are two tires i am looking at for the same price
1. Nitto Terra Grappler G2 Load Range D.

2. Hercucles Terra Trac 2 AT's

They are exactly the same price. So what do you all think? Any preference over one?

Never heard of or seen a the Hercules in person. Hard to say. Probably OK either way. By looks the Hercules is going to be quieter and better on snow and ice, worse in mud, can't say in rocks - rubber compound is much more important than tread design for that use.

I just put Toyo AT2s on my 4runner. I'm kinda luke warm so far.

I don't know about the difference between these. But I will say that I've had GENERAL GRABBER AT2's on all of my trucks and they've been great!!!

I have the G2s and like them a lot. My driving is mostly paved roads, but they do get used off-road now and then and work just fine. Did great in the snow last year too. Road noise is minimal, only noticed a slight difference from the stock tires. No complaints so far

Cooperrsssssss

Stmaxxx

Or if you want to hang with the cool kids!

At3s!!
you cant go wrong with cooper's. They rock!

Good handling in the wet - IMO better quality and price than bfg which are just black colored stone wheels yeah start that flame war.

Sorry op - no exp with either of the mentioned tires - but like said above - rubber compound is what matters and make sure you get the right tire. Don't rule out c load tires because you hit the trails once a month - I just thrashed my at3s which are c range in big bear with no tread gouges or cuts. I was also aired down in the mid 20s

Hercules Terra Trac 2 is made by Cooper

The Hercules Terra Trac 2 is actually made by Cooper, and is a similar tire to the old Cooper AT2, and Mastercraft AXT (also made by Cooper). Good quiet tire with plenty of traction and a nice mileage warranty on top of it (60 or 65k I think).

I have the G2's and I'm not a fan. They seem to follow the ridges in the road quite easily making the 4R feel as if it's wandering at times. They do well in the rain and so far they show minimal wear at 17K miles. All that said, I think I will go with the new BFG AT or possibly something with a more aggressive tread in a MT.

What don't you like about the G2s? I'm having a hard time decided between those and duratracs myself.

The g2s are fine but there are suggestions that the Terra tracs are quieter and better in sand and snow vs mud, whereas the g2s are more mud based on the tread pattern. I'm more interested in snow and dirt than mud

Cooper ATW. Likely the best snowy/Icy road AT tire you will find. It will be slightly worse off road, but every tire is a compromise. Reviews on this tire are very good... However it would probably be more useful if you gave everyone your exact driving conditions and intended use.

The g2 are not a bad tire but they are mediocre and is on par with most at tires. Basically buy em if you like the tread pattern it's fine in anything except thick mud.

The duratracs however are a step up in at tire performance, not loud, good mileage, and grips better and cleans better then most at tires. My opinion my experience that is all.
