Hi,
I recently purchased a used Thule Force Alpine from CL. It's about a year old, like new, perfect condition, exactly the same as new ones currently sold.
I attached it to factory cross bars and it fit very well; not interfering with tailgate and not totally obstructing the sunroof. The raised center of the box makes it fit very well, snug. I am totally happy with its added space and utility.
It is clamped down very well - it's not moving at all. And there is no wind-noise. So far, so good.
But there is a rattle when I hit even the smallest of potholes. The rattle seems to come from the box itself, plastic-on-plastic noise, which so far has been empty - it's only been a few days. Has anyone experienced that?
I bought some Home Depot weather stripping which I plan to put between the top and bottom shells. Should I look to put something between the cross-bars and the bottom of the box, too? If so, can anyone recommend anything?
Did anyone else have a similar issue?
Thanks!
