Metal Tech +14 4runner front bumper interest
Mark Hawley at Metal Tech has asked me to reach out to the community to find a 14+ owner that might be interested in helping to fit/demo their new front bumper. This will need to be someone in the Portland, OR area. The design will look like their new 2016 Tacoma front bumper.
The following is from Mark:
"It will be for the 14+, we will scan a different 14 and a 16 new off the lot. From that we will build the prototype 100% in 3D space without touching a truck. We will then laser, form and weld up the beta for test fit. This is where the test fit truck comes in. We will need a the truck for about 3hrs while we pull the stock bumper and hang the beta on it. Once we confirm fit, we put the test fit truck back together and they can take off with their truck. We make updates OR go right into welding up the bumper and send it to powder. Truck comes back a week later when powder coated parts come in and we formally install it on the truck. We would prefer they have us install a winch too at the same time as it all works together. We can cut a deal on the winch so they have one.
Once we have the bumper on, we would need to test truck to be up to joining us for a 2 night trip in Eastern Or for a video production shoot in the desert. The last one was 4 nights but we know not everyone can do that.
Costs: No cost for all labor. Only cost would be the hard costs, steel/laser/forming powder coating. $600-700 depending on the animal.
We are doing all three Prado 150's at the same time. Lexus GX460, 5th Gen early and 5th gen late. The 14+ is the first out of the gate, but we will do a 10-13 model at the same time (already found one). The GX460 will be in the can for when we feel that market is ready to start wheeling the $80k new or $60k used trucks.
The look will be like our new 2016 Tacoma bumpers, 20w LED driving lights, 30" single row light bar integration w/ optional delete plate."
I will find out what kind of interest there is and go from there.
I have no direct affiliation with MT, just helping him out.

I live in Albany but would be interested in driving up, it's only a little over an hour for me.

If I were closer I'd be all over this. I'm interested in the outcome.

From the looks of that bumper ^^ it seems Metal Tech wanted to be the first out the gate to offer an aftermarket bumper for the new Taco. Doesn't follow body lines, bulky like the ugly Road Armor bumpers for full size trucks and the hoop.... Seriously?? Huge steel bumpers are becoming old school and this is a great example.

I'm wondering where the stock bumper cover is going to get cut on the T4R or if MT bumper replaces the whole thing.
And this might really sound old-school...but man, I miss round auxiliary lights.
