Its worth it to me to just to move "auto lock doors when shift to park" OFF! Thats crazy to have your car unlocked just because you shift to park. Our Lexus does not do that thankfully.

Cool, so are you using the Carista Bluetooth OBD2 Adapter?

No need to disconnect/reconnect the adaptor each time. I went right from one setting to the next. In the end, I tested each of the changes, and they all stuck. Considering $16 for the adaptor and $20 for the app, I couldn't be happier.

No more seat belt warnings and eco light. Windows roll down with remote and with finger on handle. Lock chirp is much quieter. AC does not come on each time I press the auto button, doors all lock/unlock together, etc. Lots of great customizable settings.
Can you put up a link to this OBD connector please? which one did you get I want to make sure i get the right one Thanks

I've used Carista with the cheap, blue ELM327 unit and it works just fine. Recently got a new OBDii dongle, its the ScanTool OBDLink MX unit (bought this one HERE ), doesn't work any better or worse for Carista, but the Torque app is almost instantaneous with its data now!

Carista's okay for changing stuff on the vehicle from your phone, but if you have the techstream cable/software, that works a lot better and you get ALL of the options, as Carista doesn't allow you to access all of them.

Not saying anything bad about Carista, it does something that no other app seems to be able to do, but if you want to control everything, the techstream cable/software is the only thing right now that will do it.

Carista seems to work for everything (I have an option for) except for that damn ECO light... Has anyone else had a problem turning that thing off? Or more importantly, has anyone had a problem turning that thing off, and then figured out why?

On my 2010 I can turn it off with the trip meter reset stick thingy (the correct name escapes me at the moment). Can you not do that?

Keep tapping the trip reset button (on gauge cluster) until it says ECO ON. Long press to say ECO OFF.

On my 16, I was able to turn off the Eco light by going into the settings menu of the gauge display. Must be different than the earlier models- simply keep going through the different milage/trip timer displays while in park, until you see the settings option. There is an Eco light option in there.

Well.... I'm either blind as a bat (which I am) or my 2011 SR5 has no Trip meter.
I find no Trip button, and the "mode" button next to the mileage/clock just goes back and forth between MPG and Distance to empty.
Hopefully someone will tell me I'm just blind and the button is under the dash or somewhere...
Kinda sucks to not have a trip meter :-(

There's a little black stick protruding through the clear plastic over your speedometer and other gauges. Press and release to cycle through the menus, press and hold to change settings or reset the trip meter.

Not sure if this was answered in the thread, but do you have to keep the adapter plugged in for the changes to work or is it okay to remove? Thank you in advance for the answer.

You remove it when finished with adjustments
