2016 OEM Mudflap install

Looking to install mud flaps on my wife 2016 Limited. It came stock with running boards, and I am getting conflicting messages on different websites saying that it will not work with factory running boards.

Can any one of you geniuses shed some light on this?

PT796-89110 is the mud guards we are looking at.

Thanks

I don't think anything has changed but I could be wrong, maybe this will help...

Mudflaps with running boards, which ones?

Thanks Jhalko,

The only thing I am seeing different is the running boards themselves. Our 2016 limited has a different style running board than some in previous searches. No big black plastics part on ends. Looking at this pic of ours I think it will work fine. I plan to get under there and really look at it this weekend.

I dont know why it's upside down?!?
Thanks again

Are you in Australia by chance?

I've seen those newer running boards around, I find it nearly impossible to believe the mud flaps could interfere.

I just got a 2016 limited in Dec. it came with those running boards and mudflaps. I had the dealer take the running boards off. But they will work.

Fine, I'll say it...

What kind of tires are those? They appear to have excellent grip.

Yes, What kind of tires are those? My Bridgestones just let me slide into someone this morning. My front facia is going to have to be replaced.

Yes that model number will fit on your limited.
I have a 2016 with the older model steps that I got on t4r, the instructions are not really for the limited. But you'll figure out where some of the screws go. You will need to drill 2 pilot holes for screws. One on the bottom of the mud flap and one on the most upper part of the mud flap.
You can loosen the bolts that holds the boards to the mounting bracket , then you can slide the boards back and forth.
Hope this helps.

So did you install the mud guards and do they work? I have a 2016 Limited and my dealer tells me that no mudguards will fit my vehicle as they have to be factory installed. Thanks.

@jdsonice - Yes these mudguards fit on the 2016 limited runner.
Part No. PT769-89110 The pictures below are without the running boards BUT they did IN FACT work with factory running boards.

Easy install, Front Set: I had to drill 2 holes to make them sturdy. There is a smaller version of a mudflap already in place. I took that one off, installed new ones and put that smaller version back on. Worked fine.

Back Set: This one is pretty much plug and play. These fit between the fender lining and the fender. I drilled on hole in each of these again for stability. Not Necessary. (The clip facing down is a PITA to get out and I did not reuse them.) Pics Below
