Did a little research and its on sale for $349 now. Pretty much plug and play except for 2 wires to splice in. Video seems pretty easy to instal and vehicle remains running when you open door.

I am thinking of going similar route. You might want to check with accesoride. I believe it’s the same harness and I believe it’s $249 and they are vendor here on the boards

If I'm not mistaken the 12volt solutions unit only works with the push button vehicles..if you have one no problem..otherwise, the accessoride unit is the best option, https://accessorides.com/collections...ay-g-key-start

As I said, I need something simple - one button, maybe 2-way, that's it.
I see several Groupon deals with the Compustar CM-900 for about $150-160, maybe additional for the bypass module. Is this a discontinued model?
Also see several simple Avital deals around the same price.
With all these options, no way I'm spending $250/$350 for 12volt's and do the labor myself!

That model on regular key start vehicles it will not shut down, and there are t-harness available for it.
Best Buy has this model which will include a t-harness and installation. T-harnewss is available now for PTS and regular key. Remotes are upgradable.

12volt.solutions has two units. One for limited and one for keys with G stamp on it. Sr5 Trd etc. Non limited model will work with your stock key button to start your car and if range is issue, you can add cellular module for start and unlock the car using their app. Also G stamped unit will keep engine running when you unlock and open the door.

Thanks for the recommendations guys! We have kits for both the key and push start. Push start will shut down when opening the door. Key starts will stay running and allow takeover. Either one can be activated from the OEM remote by pressing lock 3 times and both are 100% plug and play. Longer range remotes or smartphone modules can be added to either as well. Let us know if you have any other questions and as always check out our section in the vendor area for a discount code.
Arthurm - for a basic remote start installed expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $400 including the parts, labor, bypass etc. And the groupon deals always sound good but often dont include the bypass which they will add another $100 or so on for. If you are comfortable doing the labor yourself its maybe 15 - 20 connections depending on options but you can definitely save a few bucks that way. Either of those you mentioned Avital or Compustar are both nice units as long as you stick with any of the major brands and find a reputable installer you’ll be good to go!

Before spending any money, go out to your T4R and depress the lock button on your factory key fob 3xs w/in 5 seconds. A valet accidentally demonstrated to me that I had remote start. Dealership searched and said I did not. I then stumbled upon the answer that I did and how to trigger it.

Is the kit you sell the same kit that 12volt sells?

nice
I was planning on doing this for my 12 4runner. Then I had the idea to do it for my fifes Lexus. They want to charge me for it. its called an enform remote and you have to subscribe to something to use the function that's on the car.

What year/model do you have? Would love to find out if my 2018 does this.

I think it took me about 3 hours to install.

I purchased a factory remote starter for my 2013 4Runner. May I message you about the install?

Sure. I installed it in like 2013, so I have forgotten most of the details.

On the Accessorides version for a push button start 2021 TRDP, I'm just confirming there is still no bypass for the door killing the engine?
