So nice. Makes me want to do a road trip to Cali just to hit up these spots.

When I lived in Vegas I would take trips into BLM land. Partially for the offroading and the trails but more so for shooting my firearms. I wish there was one closer but I believe the closest is in Sacramento.

I hear ya man. Land use issues are really bad in the Bay Area. I barely have trails to legally mountain bike on!

Man, I am glad I read your thread. I didn't know about Pit Row and I just got my RCI aluminum tank skid delivered today so I guess where I will be on the weekend :-).
Cheers!

Xtremluck's 2012 SR5 Build Thread
Just got back from a two week trip up the Pacific Northwest! Oregon -> Washington -> Whistler BC -> Squamish BC and then back to CA. 7 nights of camping, 6 days of mountain biking, 3 days of dedicated off road exploration trips (300+ miles) and 2,100 miles of pavement pounding.
For this trip I outfitted my truck with a bunch of upgrades and happy to report they all proved quite useful! The list includes:
-Full RCI aluminum skid plate package
-ARB 2500 Awning + ARB room with tent
-Custom shovel mount + shovel
-Escaper buddy traction planks (cheap Maxtrax alternative)
-Rotopax 3 gallon fuel cell
-Waterport pressurized water system
-Yeti Tundra 65 cooler
-A bunch of REI camping gear
Onto the pics!
Kicking off the trip right by hitting up a relatively challenging trail near Mt Shasta:
Setting up camp with the ARB awning and room:
Lucky for me a photographer was on station on one of the downhill trails at Whistler Bike Park and snapped this shot of me:
Playing around on some active logging roads in Squamish BC:
Driving down a super steep trail from an awesome camping location in Umpqua Forest, Oregon:
A forest access trail nearby the next day when we were hit with 6" of snow in June!!
All in all an awesome trip which tested and validated the versatility of our rigs! Looking forward to the next adventure!

Had a great weekend exploring the trails around the infamous Rubicon Trail near Lake Tahoe. Christened my new RCI skids and my rock rails multiple times over!

Been a while since I've updated this thread. Decided to switch out the Bilstein 6112/5160 setup with something a bit more adjustable. Went a bit overboard and picked up Pretty much Icon Stage 7 suspension (minus the rear bits). Took a day to install everything but the difference is night and day. The ride on and off road is much more controlled and stable.
Flexing the new suspension out at the local OHV park
@ Hollis
ter Hills
I also started prepping the front end for some additional upgrades (More to come on that soon):

Very nice! Surprised to hear about the improvement of the Icon Stage 7 over the Bilstein 6112/5160s. I have the Bilstein setups and love the feel on the highway. All relative I guess. Though the leaks of the 5160s are concerning.
I have a '13 LE and I am following your build. Can't wait to see whats next for the front bumper. I hope it's a hidden winch so I can get you to help me when it's my turn :-).

Yeah the Billies work great for what they are. I just wanted something with more adjustability and a setup that allowed a little more travel. The 5160s are a bit short so they limit rear axle travel a bit. Also had one shock blow out after only about 50 miles on pavement luckily Bilstein replaced it.
I would be more than happy to help you install a winch when you're ready. I will actually be installing my bumper in probably 2-3 weeks if you want to swing by to see what it's like. Could also use a second set of hands!

Sent you a PM regarding a 2nd set of hands to help you install your bumper.

Nice truck!
Subb'd for more pictures/information of the front end conversion! Have been thinking of doing the same for my 10'
Plug and play lights?
Perhaps upon completion, you could post a parts list?

Yup, I will definitely do a mini writeup on the facelift. It's pretty straight forward with a few nuances which I will call out. Hopefully that will make it a bit easier for you to do yours in the future!

Haven't posted pics of a recent trip to AZ and Ut so though I'd do that!
One of the only 4x4 routes that drops you into the Grand Canyon in AZ
Coming down a trail right outside of Zion National Park in Hurricane, UT
