After a couple of years using a National Luna Dual Battery isolator my secondary battery was in pretty rough shape. Our smart alternator wasn’t giving me enough voltage to properly charge the 55ah AGM battery. So I opted to add a DC to DC charger with solar capabilities. I now have an almost indefinite supply of electricity while camping!

This quarantine has me busy knocking out so many projects on my list. Finally took apart my winch after three years of field use to rebuild it. The clutch lever was stuck in the engaged position and now I know why.
Fun fact: I was able to completely tear down the winch without removing my bumper. I guess the Pelfreybilt crew did one thing right. All better now and I even added a wireless winch controller.
Had some extra time on a Sunday so I added extended braided brake lines in the rear in preparation for some suspension upgrades coming. Didn’t catch the brake fluid fast enough and now I need to spend some time to repaint my axle. Oh well...

How are you liking the Redarc BCDC? I'm running a Blue Sea ML-ACR and have been having issues with maintaining full charge on my batteries as well. I added the Arclight voltage booster to help give my AGM batteries a little more juice but it seems like my aux battery isn't able to power the fridge for as long as it used to. I can get maybe a 1.5 days out of the fridge where I used to get about 3 days out of it.
I recently picked up the 25A BCDC and going to redo my dual battery setup. Are you still running a solenoid as well to help isolate and link the batteries or did you switch completely to DC-DC? Ideally I'd like to link the batteries especially when I need to winch or run the air compressor and I know you can run an isolator along with dc-dc charger but that might be overkill and add complexity.

Its one of the best upgrades I could have done. I thought of a voltage booster but ultimately decided against it since so many folks seem to get mediocre results and some even have additional problems with those things. I deleted my battery isolator even though you can technically use it. It wasn't worth the over complication for minimal benefit IMHO.
I use my winch and air compressor quite frequently and never really had a situation where I drained my starter battery. Even with long extended winch pulls. Although I usually insert breaks so the winch can cool down so maybe that helps with power consumption. If you need to jump start your rig just carry a set of jumper cables. I usually have that and an external lithium ion battery starter as backup in my kit.

Awesome, thanks for the insight!!! Yeah the voltage booster was just a temporary solution and honestly I don't want to mess too much with the OEM electrical system. I'm currently running group 35 agm batteries for both starter and aux but with a BCDC I could potentially run lithium in the future which would be nice.

Yup, Im thinking the same thing. Unfortunately, the engine bay isn't really lithium friendly because of heat. If I could do my dual battery project all over again I would have run my house battery in the passenger compartment and it would be lithium. The high capacity, weight and ability to drain to zero is so money.

Well after about 40,000 miles of hard use my Icon CDCV suspension was due for a rebuild. I wanted to try something different so I opted for a KINGs custom setup through Filthy Motorsports with a softer spring in front. Went from a 700lb spring to a 650 and this setup is night and day better than the Icons off-road.
Had a quick trip over the long July 4th holiday weekend to break them in. Glad I made the change the hype is real.

Have you ever checked the number of clicks you have on your kings?
What are you settings for the front are rears on the adjusters?

I have them on a pretty soft setting right now. 3 clicks in the front and 5 clicks in the rear. It seems to be a pretty balanced ride.

Glad you discovered this product I’ve ordered it. I have the Icon lift and the shop that installed It dropped the radiator support brackets with 3 Shims on the front and back Sides of the brace which looks sketchy to me. Have you seen that done before?
Also considering going with the CBI front skid which I believe requires complete removal of the OEM radiator supports is that correct?
Thanks!

Ive definitely have seen that before because I did the same thing initially. The factory labels them as front suspension braces so in my mind they play some sort of structural role. So I wouldn't be hot about removing them and that was the reason I paid up for the ARB brace.

After years of using ATRAC and my winch to get up more technical obstacles I finally caved and bought a rear locker. I was originally going to take it in to an axle specialist for the install but I love a good challenge and decided to DIY. It’s definitely not an easy project since Eaton’s documentation is sparse but after a lot of research I was able to figure it out.
We are planning a backcountry tour of the Sierra mountains this weekend so I wanted to QA test the locker a bit. Works as advertised and makes getting up stuff a little less sketchy.

Might have missed it, but how did you get away with the hatch ladder and drivers side table? When I installed mine, the folks at CBI told me it wouldn’t work. Either the table or the ladder but not both.
Do you have any clearance issues?

Sorry for the super late reply on this. They used to offer it as an option with the table. Although I would say there are definitely some clearance issues from swing arm flexing into it. Nothing major just dont expect to have a pristine finish on your ladder if you really hammer on your rear bumper.
