Anyone blacked out a new Limited?

Just hoping to find pics of the newer style Limited 4Runner in black with all the chrome blacked out.

Really not crazy about all the chrome on the front end of the limited now. I think the only way to really black it all out and still have it look good would be on a black 4Runner.

I finally found the link I was thinking of:

Limited or TRD PRO???

I'm looking into replacing the front bumper with a SR5 one. Stupid. Yes. Wasteful. Yes. Possible. I think so. I hate the chrome. I'll probably buy a roof rack first...

I have a 2015 attitude black Limited. I haven't blacked it out yet, but I plan on doing it in the coming weeks.

I have an Icon Stage 1 lift I have sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Once I get some wheels ordered, I'll install the lift, take it to Discount Tire, get the wheels and tires put on, then probably Plastidip the emblems and get SR5/Trail rockers.

I plan on going black Plastidip on most the chrome, but doing the Toyota logo, the Limited emblem on the sides, and the 4Runner emblem on the back in gunmetal Plastidip (since the wheels I plan on getting will be gunmetal).

I'll be sure to take photos of it and start a build thread once it's done.

Sorry for the threadjack, but I have a similar scenario. I've got a SR5 premium magnetic grey set to be delivered within the next week. I'd like to have the stock wheels painted with a flat black powder coat finish. Asked the dealer about it - they quoted $850 because the wheels would have to be demounted, disassembled due to the air pressure monitors, etc.

I think they're blowing smoke trying to make a buck. What say you?

I think I'd find aftermarket wheels in the right color and sell the stockers.

$850 is realistic if that includes all of the labor and powder coating. The wheels have to be baked and you can't have the TPMS sensors installed while that happens.

But like philsey said, just buy wheels you want and sell the factory ones.

I don't know squat about powder coating. I mean it's good and all that, right? But it's still a coating, right? Couldn't tire machines and tire monkeys with impact wrenches still eff it up?

I really like it without all the chrome. I like chrome but too much on the front end.

I wouldn't mind getting trd front end with the Toyota name on the front.

Does anyone know where to buy just the letters?

Kuh,

How did you black it out? Did you just use Plasti Dip or did you have it painted/powder coated?

I just used plastic dip and frog tape. There is couple of spots where I could've done a better job. I messed up the front bumper the first time but I peeled it off in one big easy sheet.

Just do several coats before removing the tape.

Overall I am pretty pleased on how it came out. It's my first time plastic dipping
