40-50mph front end humming when 4wd engaged. Is this normal for a new car?

Like the title says, I can hear a "humming" noise from the front end between 40 and 50mph when 4wd is engaged and I accelerate. I can't tell yet if I hear it below 40mph, but I feel as though that sound wasn't there before.

I was searching the forums and found a lot of "well you shouldn't be going 50mph when in 4wd anyways" but still, i'm not sure if its a normal sound.

I will be going in for my 10k service and first oil change soon and want to hopefully bring them some information regarding the possible issue so they can diagnose it and fix it asap.

Anyone else experience the same thing?

Sounds completely normal to me. The style of four-wheel-drive system that we have in our 4runners now is rugged but the trade-off is we don't have a multi mode. This is just characteristic of a part-time four-wheel-drive when run locked up at freeway speeds. Enjoy your new 4Runner
