Alright, think I've mostly finished this up other than minor tweaks as I learn more from actual experience. Got the coolant and spark plug sections updated. Got all the parts #'s, bolt sizes, torque specs, etc. I think.

Just let me know if ya'll find more or better DIY threads or vids to link to.

Thanks!

The toyotapartsdeal.com website is suggesting the spark plug P/N provided in the OP is not compatible with my '13 SR5? They suggest this spark plug instead (specifically referenced to my VIN):

90919-01191 - Toyota Parts Deal,

Plug, Spark
SK20HR11
Part Name Code: 19100P

Any reason why this would be incorrect - and when this might have changed?

Thanks!!!

EDIT - Actually the OP references "SK20HR11" plugs and so does the P/N I linked to - so maybe Toyota just changed their internal numbering for SK20HR11 to 90919-01191? Ordered those

I just checked. 2013 manual says DENSO SK20HR11.
2016 manual says DENSO SK16HR11.

Guess they changed at some point. Order the one for the 2013. When I get a chance to go look at all the different years manuals, I'll update the OP to ensure it's not steering anyone astray.

EDIT:
2010-13 spark plug is Toyota 90919-01191 (DENSO SK20HR11)
2014-16 spark plug is Toyota 90919-01233 (DENSO SK16HR11)
OP updated, thanks for pointing this out @Randyman...

@renau001 - do you know what changed (and why) with the spark plugs for 2014+?? Seems like a different temperature/insulator? Maybe fuel-map/timing (ECU/Tuning) related modifications? Or some kind of "deeper" design change with the heads/cams/compression???

I'm very curious...

I don't know, I'm definitely not the best person to ask. I do know that with a TIS subscription you can look at the new vehicle features section for the different model years and probably find out. Not sure if the answer's worth $15 to you or not.

EDIT:
http://densoautoparts.com/spark-plug-part-numbering
Per denso's website, the 16 vs 20 denotes a change in its heat range.
If I understand it correctly that would imply its designed for a different temperature in the combustion chamber.
Since there was no change in hp or torque from 2013 to 2014, my guess is its emissions-related.

Interesting. Wonder if the ECU tuning changed at all or what other emissions crap might have been changed? Just a curiosity...

Thanks for the info!!!

Just wanted to say thanks to the OP for summarizing all of the info and terrific thread links. My 2016 4Runner TRD Pro that was ordered in December 2015 is scheduled for delivery in June 2016. As a result, I am excited and in the process of gathering maintenance information. Thanks again.

Dealer uses the same grease in all the driveline fittings. I watched them do it on my 15'. I asked the tech if he was using the correct grease, as the slips and U joints have different grease. He said that's all they use on every truck and SUV.

I will use green grease on mine, as it is synthetic and compatible with all other greases.
