It's on a 2016 trail premium.

Second layer

It makes me want a 3D printer, it would be fun to model a low profile cover that replaces the existing plastic.

That looks totally different from any antennas I've seen on Toyotas. Interesting that they would change the design halfway through the cycle. I'll see what I come up with.

Do you have a limited?

EDIT: Nvm, looks like you have a 2011 SR5. I have a 2014, so unfortunately I can't be much help. I'm thinking one of those is a GPS chip. @mdogg can you assist?

Unfortunately, I don't remember what was underneath my OEM one or what was underneath the 8696006030A1 replacement. I'll snap a pic of the OEM version later today to check it out. It will be a few hours, but I'll check it out.

It looks like @oljedi11950 bought 86960 02050 (instead of 86960 06030 like mine) - I'm not sure exactly what that part number is for. I remember when I was searching they had multiple versions - for Safety Connect (with/without) and either GPS or Satellite (with/without; perhaps even all combinations).

A little late, but as promised..... pictures of the electronics and connector from a 2013 Limited with JBL.

I saw a Camry antenna that looks identical to the ones people are installing with that same plug on eBay. It was 40ish. Might be worth checking out if you have the 3prong connector

@Brandon_Reed , mind checking the dimensions of your slot? I also have a 2016 and don't care about or want XM radio, so I may put an NMO mount there but I don't think that it will fit

Sorry, I don't plan on taking it apart again unless there's a solid prospect of replacing it with a low profile unit.

Based on the previous few photos it appears that the outer sharkfin design does actually have a purpose. Anybody know which antenna the thin fin shape one serves?

You should be good to go. For 2014-2015 models the extra space is cosmetic. 2010-2013 models there may be a slight issue with either the safety connect or the GPS, and the 2016+ (with the white plastic exterior) doesn't have an alternative yet.

2012 Camry Black Satellite Antenna 86960 06020 | eBay

Look at pic 2. Looks pretty similar to me. I made an offer and they countered with 42. I ended up buying a flat black one with the gray connector. I have the newer style so I was just planning on the internal swap
