Directions/help with Icon rear track bar

Hey folks

I'm looking for directions on the icon rear track bar. Did the install but had problems and of course no directions. Anyone have that sheet that comes with? It's not on their site.

16 TE with no KDSS, stage 5 parts w/o rear control arms.

Installed the heim end to the axle pocket as most of the pictures online indicated. However the zirc fitting on the frame side was completely obstructed and prevented the bolt from going in correctly on the frame side. So forget about ever greasing it easily.

This means I had to flip it.. which I'm sure has it's own problems... like the bushing blowing out when greased at the end of the day. Ran out of light/time so I didn't get to re-install.

so anyone have the directions/advice on what they did? I've got to go pull it and would like to only do it once more. It's almost like they welded the frame side on backwards

Frame side with blown bushing but hey the zirc is accessible

Welp per Icon this is by design in terms of the pinch bolts. To adjust it now you have to raise the bar and set it then put the bar back in. So you can't adjust it in place. This was done as too many people were hitting the two bolts.

Also turns out with the icon 3" overland springs the alignment shop could not get it to align properly. Not enough length in the bar. Icon told them I'd have to get control arms. They called around and another shop had had the same problem.

So the heck with the icon track bar, sending it back and getting the total chaos arms + track bar.

Maybe the track bar you had was for stock to maybe 2" lift or something...?
Do they have a track bar rated for a 3" lift?

you have it installed correctly , I have the pinch collar flipped around so the bolts are on top facing out but basically you have it installed correctly which is the opposite of the directions I called icon to confirm. You can adjust on the truck no problem

Huh. I noticed when I ordered mine there was a 3 week backorder from icon. The pinch bolts would not install from the other direction because they were not threaded on one side so that option didn't work for me. Guess I got unlucky with the timing of whatever re-design they did. Icon gave me an RMA number to return so I'm happy about that!

I also have one of the newer Icon track bars and called in questioning why the bolts faced the wrong way which makes on vehicle adjustment impossible. The first response I got was "I talked with engineering and it is by design". When pressing further, they said "so the bolts don't get snagged on a rock or something". Based on my limited understanding of their design intent and my own assessment of the negligible damage risk to the bolts, I found that explanation a little lacking. But once I had the bar installed with correct adjustment and near perfect alignment, I realized I likely won't ever touch it again so I moved on. However, I called Icon again for different issue and talked with another guy who explained that the bar is used on some other vehicles and they didn't want to create a new design/part number/kit. As an engineer trying to leverage designs across several applications and reduce the number of unique variants, I totally understand this logic. As a consumer, I would still rather have the bolts facing the other way but at least now I have an answer that makes sense. (No hard feelings toward Icon, they have been polite and helpful to me. Here is a picture I made to communicate with them.
