Care to share what size tire is tucking so neatly away in that rear wheel well?

It's actually stock 265 size! Haven't felt the need to upgrade to 275 or 285 yet.

The current wheels with the Dobinsons lift have done everything I've asked with no issues so far. Granted I'm not doing any real rock crawling, at least not until I get a set of real rock sliders.

Well golly, this is exactly the direction I am headed with my ‘21 Pearl. Waiting for 6112/5160s to be back in stock. Any chance you have a pic of your rig on flat ground? Debating on 265/275/285s on a 2.5/2 lift.

A few of my updates

Just put the Prinsu rack and the heritage valance a couple weeks ago.

New to the forum but I love seeing the mods.

Mine is supposed to be 2.5/1.5 and I asked them to leave some rake instead of leveling since I didn't want it to squat when I tow or have gear in it. They left it at 2-2.5" of rake with the hopes that the rear would settle a bit, but 15k miles later it hasn't settled at all. Apparently this is common on the rear Dobinsons springs, so now I'm looking to raise the front a little more to bring it closer to 1" rake.

There are times where 265 does look puny, especially with the Limited body kit wrapping around them so much more, but I drive too much to deal with the added weight/MPG loss of larger tires. I've driven over 50k miles in the last 12 months.

Good intel, same trade for me, ok with rake if I can avoid sag when loaded hence the 0.5 difference goal. I guess it’s a crap shoot depending on lift brand etc. since I’ll be maxed out at 2.5 front due to the 6112s. If I have a change of heart I’ll have to add a small spacer. RE tire size, I drive so little that I’ll go 275 or 285. I’m in total agreement that the limited needs something to offset the body… to look proportional. Actually leaning towards 285/65R18. A tad smaller diameter than all the 285/70R17s out there.

I’ll post in this thread when done, but at the mercy of backorder right now. …. And magnuson to get their tune fixed for the ‘20+

Limited Edition Mod Thread

Do the leveling kits preserve the suspension geometry? I am wanting to confirm that there are no ill effects such as an overly bouncy/jouncy front end, such as is with cranked torsion bar suspension.

I am appreciative of retaining somewhat of a rake if that means I am still “down in it” (travel) and my front end is able to handle bumps, potholes, and remain stable when cornering.

I do know this much - the nature of the 4Runner’s somewhat neutral caster means the steering wheel will tend to deflect as the vehicle absorbs bumps. I want to make sure that if I proceed with an upgrade that includes adding positive caster, say a total of 4-5 degrees, that a leveled front end will still be able to deal with road imperfections and handling with that caster holding the steering more firm, placing that job firmly on the shocks.

Nice. I don't think I've seen many eLocker conversions, esp. on a Limited. May I ask why you chose 4.88 vs 4.56? I'm guessing because of the big meaty tires you're running. Please keep us updated with your results.

I had an air locker in my Jeep previously and had several issues with leaking so I wanted to try something different for the 4Runner and went with the ELocker. As for the 488s when I’m fully loaded for camping I’m adding 1200lbs more than the factory weight plus pulling around the 35s. I was getting 11.5 mpg and it was struggling on steep inclines having to downshift to stay at 70mph. So far no complaints freeway at 75mph on an incline I’m at 2700 rpms in 5 gear.

Had my limited for about a year and a half.
I took mine out this spring. Have a 2017 LE I bought 2 years used and while I do notice some difference (seems to be a bit more nose dive in breaking), I have no regrets at all. I swapped to Toytec and am really liking it so far. Family is complaining a bit to get in, but I've recently added sliders with a top plate which helps them and the doors out.

I ordered from MC Autoparts. I was disappointed that they said it would fit the Limited but I ended up having to cut it with a multi tool to make it fit. I also had to buy more of the 3M two sided adhesive because theirs wasn't very good.
