I just want to see if it can be retrofitted :-)

When you take the front handle off, the sensor is located on the inside or reverse side of the handle. It's a long black piece held in by a couple of screws. You can't see it until you take the handle off.

Here's another pic. Yes it can come off. Yes it can be retrofitted. Yes it will be more difficult than just painting the chrome one. Again, I doubt you are getting a handle with the ability to just swap over the sensor. Hopefully you are, but I can only find chrome handles that say they work with the smart sensor.

I’m hoping the painted white handles w/o smart sensors look identical to the handle on the left.

Thanks for the pic. Else I’ll just have the body shop paint it.

Yep. I stripped all the chrome off at one point to sand and paint it. Took a long time (full day) to do but I think it was well worth it to not have plastidip and not have to pay someone to paint them. As far as I know, the chrome and nightshade chrome are the only front handles that accommodate the smart sensor.

The option other than color matching is to pick a complimentary color to your vehicle color. For me, I did magnetic gray over all the chrome on a nautical blue 4Runner. This pic is a few weeks old and I've since replaced the headlights and fog lights but the chrome replacement color is still there.

Let’s see the magnetic grey over the chrome door handles :-)

After having my dealer paint and install the SR5 flares on the rear doors since I removed the lower trim, I asked about matching P. Blizzard handles. After some research she called back and said the Highlander Pearl Blizzard with smart key will work on my Limited.

Had another project pop up (Kitchen's are so damn expensive) so I didnt follow up on the handles. Check with your dealer to validate...if it'll work as she said, that's a great solution.

Please do, as I'd love to find a cost effective way to remove the chrome.

Thank you all who helped me tackle lifting the XREAS on my 4Runner!

Installed eibach pro truck sport shocks with dobinsons coils and I couldn’t be happier! I have a slight .5” driver side lean that I may address down the line.

I zip tied my XREAS lines for now as I really need a break before I go under again.

Achieved the lift I was after and the road feels so much better.

And now the front bumper swap...it never ends. But that's the fun part.

Truck looks great.

Lots of good looking LE's here. Gives me some inspiration. I would love to do the front /rear bumper swap someday.
