You should really run with this, as a lot of stock roof rails use that same open channel design, and it would be a super easy way to get awnings onto all sorts of vehicles.

After much research on this had a local shop fab some brackets.
One set powder coated silver (available color they had) - waiting on a set in semi gloss black.
Works well for my small awning ARB 1250 (previously for the back of the FJ) on stock rack/bars and cargo box setup (room to open from either side)
Spacing and height is perfect (I'm 6' 2"), like this design as it keeps the back of the awning over the "rain gutter" area and seems to make sense strength wise (having a vertical bracket so weight is not hanging out/off anything).
Used t-bolts Maadcaap mentioned, a small flathead eyeglass screwdriver to hold the bolts vertical (there's a notch in the end) while initially tightening the nuts helped.

5th gen roof rack
Hi all - looking for any help finding a solid roof rack that can hold a yakima 16/18 and a 9ft longboard. New to this whole forum thing and just not having any luck.
Any suggestions?

Hey where does one go to find 1/4" aluminum plates that can be drilled?

PDF attached of my "blueprint" for dimensions. Went with the 6061 since it was in stock at a localish metal shop. (DB Cotton / Rawson Manufacturing Co, Putnam, CT) who were so great to work with!

I'm not sure where I can get this made locally but thank you so much for the specs on this mount, this will really help!

There is still room on the rack for a basket...

I have a 2020 Toyota 4runner TRD off road. I am interested in your solution to mounting a 6' ARB awning on factory rails/cross bars. I live in Venice, FL

Thank you for this. I had a couple of the brackets machined and I painted them black. This works really well!

Has anyone mounted an awning on 2020 pro stock rack? If so can you share pictures please. I’ve done some digging around, but can’t seem to find any pictures or links. Maybe the trek mounts might work?
