Front Turn Signals... CK or no?

Are the front turn signals on the 5th gen CK type sockets or standard? Or is it going to differ more granularly than that?

My 2016 t4r is non CK... I have VLED white/Amber switchbacks installed for turn signals up front. My 2015 Tacoma on the other hand is CK base turn signals upfront. @jbregar

Rbreezy ,did you have to use a canbus adapter so that the LED switchbacks wouldn't hyper flash ?
I have the putco switchbacks and they hyper flash so for now I'm using the factory bulbs , oddly the back turn signals are also LED but do not hyper flash!
Erick.

I have a 5w 6ohm resistor IIRC installed between the ground and the signal wire for each side to remedy the hyper flash. Be careful tho and mount them on a metal plate or screw/rivet/clamp them to a metal surface since they get really hot while the flashers are going. Also if you do change the rear turn signals out to led they will need them as well or at least mines did. I didn't want to hack my harness up so I ended up buying the plug and play piggy back resistor harnesses that plug in between the factory plug and the bulb from like Amazon a while back.

The hyper flash has nothing to do with CANBUS. It's purely resistance. LEDs don't have enough, so they hyper flash.

CANBUS is a different thing entirely.

You are right canbus is not the answer ,it is indeed a 5 To 11 ohm resistor can't remember the value for this particular bulb....
Anyway yes they get extremely hot !

Yeah. The load resistors really need to be connected to something metal to dissipate the heat. They do indeed get quite hot.

Do you happen to have link to these plug and play resistors?

which option did you get? I don't remember whether the marker/turn signal bulbs are 9005 or 9006...

I'm guessing this should work fine if I buy this harness w/ inline resistors, and then buy amber LED bulbs separate, right?

The fronts are 7443s and the rear turn signals are 7440s

I just ordered a pair for the front and rear. Just to check in, you're still having no issues with hyper flash? I hacked into my last vehicle's wiring to install resistors and over time, I got water penetration and that of course caused other issues.

Also, how do you like those white/amber leds for the front turns?

I just swapped my rear turn signals to LED and they did require the resistors to prevent the hyper flash. I bought these ones off eBay that were plug and play without having to cut my stock wiring.

Resistors

I did have to slightly trim the female end of the resistor wiring in order to fit the stock housing. They work and look great now.

I am sure the front would need the resistors as well.

that is weird my putco plasma 7440 rear LED turn signals do not hyperflash....!
the 7443 do hyperflash in the front , I did not install the 11ohm resistors yet , i'm not sure where to put them so that they don't melt anything that comes in contact...they are from Xenon Depot and should arrive soon .

any suggestion on where to install the resistors? also access to the front bulbs and front marker lights is quite difficult .
Erick.
