Lightbulb RCI rock sliders installation (time lapse video)

I just put together a video with the installation of some RCI rock sliders, thread plated, powder coated, for a KDSS 4R.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUrGfDUHhvs

Nothing special really as they are bolt on, KDSS friendly (if ordered as such), and dead easy to install.

Great color T4R...

I've been contemplating the RCI sliders myself!

I took advantage of the July 4th sale and picked up a pair, just need to get to Ft Collins to pick them up. Technically bought the sliders prior to Owning a 4runner (took delivery last night). Happy to be supporting a local CO company.

Yeah same here. Not only that, but they're doing a great job. Already ordered a full set of skid plates as well from them.

Do they have a website? I live in Denver and would rather buy local.

Very nice video, that was oddly satisfying to watch, I assume you got the powder coated option? I've been contemplating getting a set, as they are local to me.

I just picked up my RCI sliders for my '14 TE w/ KDSS and I'm having trouble installing on the driver's side. There is a cover for the wires leading to the file pump, to the left of the fuel pump, that is blocking the smaller panel on the slider from lining up with the bolts. Do I need to remove this?

For those who have RCI sliders, how are they as a step?

I like the low profile of these sliders, but wondering if you could really use them as a step.

Thanks

RCI Sliders

Got the 5 degree angle with the tread plate and powdercoated black. I had a local powdercoater paint the treadplate red to go with my red decal.

Mine is KDSS so it took about twice as long to install the driver side but I think if I did it again it would be longer but not by twice. Use these instructions. Print it out and take it with you.

https://trail4runner.com/2017/11/20/...h-gen-4runner/

I did mine 99% by myself. I only had help as I was jacking up the inside and holding the break lines out. Helper lifted up the outside of the slider so the slider plate slid flat against the frame as I was jacking it up.

Nice sliders. 50lbs driver side and 60 lbs passenger side. Now if I can figure out how to attach a pic.

I have a Toytech BOSS lift (Tandem Automotive in Haltom City, TX, highly recommended especially if you have KDSS) with factory tires as I have seen some threads where people are asking what it looks like. Not too bad, it is just that the stock Bridgestones are ugly. I do plan on new tires and wheels next year. With the lift the front wheels come in too much and I don't want to use spacers.

RCI Skid Plate

I also installed the front RCI aluminum skid plate and the black metal spacer between the bumper and the skid plate (replaces the black plastic spacer from the factory).

I got the red TRD decal that goes on the TRD Pro skid plate and managed to make it work here by putting it on the black spacer. Wasn't easy to install but managed. I like it. Got the decal from https://tvdvinyldecals.com/

Seems like RCI. Call them direct.

Have had mine on since Jan of 2017... great sliders but the powder coating started failing within the first few months. Will be pulling them to repaint soon.

That said I'll be going to RCI for my skid plates
