You can't have mine but I'll tell you in my almost two years of ownership (white Trail) I've never once been bothered by glare. I'm not sure why it's such a big deal. Maybe it's because I'm tall (like someone else said) but it's never been a problem. (I'm 6'3"-6'4").

I'm 6'3" also and never had an issue with my tacomas scoop while others complained. It must be the height then.

Great so people stop telling me not to get the scoop and give me yours! haha

Ha, no thanks. That's a mod I don't care to do.

I also just don't understand the desire for it. The last 4Runner I owned was a 2nd Gen in the late 90s/early 00s. Then I had a 2004 LR Discovery which I sold and picked up this new Trail. Neither needed a hood scoop.

When I first looked at the Trail on the dealer lot and opened the hood and saw the full liner I started laughing. I never thought it was with a purely cosmetic hood scoop. I guess when I used to see Tacomas on the road I assumed it was functional. I had no idea.

Yeah they've never been functional on any of them. Just cosmetic.

If you get tired of your glare, let me know and we can swap! My non scooped hood is in perfect shape and we have the same color in the same location!

It's a win-win situation. Member wants scooped hood regardless of glare, other member wants rid of scoop due to glare and non-functionality.

Make it happen!

Just take some off road mud and toss it on the hood and let it bake in the sun for a few days it will take the shine right off of it!

Trying to find someone willing to trade their scooped hood for a lame flat hood is like someone trying to trade Kate Beckinsale for Fat Amy. It just doesn't happen. Good luck though, fellas!

On my MGM Trail the glare is insane sometimes... I just power through it and know it looks damn good. My eyes may be watering and making me squint but its all good.

Actually, I previously owned a 2006 4runner limited with a Diesel 4 cylinder, 3.0L engine and the hood scoop was fully functional. Unfortunately 2006 was the last year Toyota offered the diesel in the 4runner for Latin America.

No matter how much folks rant negatively about their hood scoop, you know deep down inside they love it and wouldn't trade it for anything...

It just give the front end the extra oomph!

Yeah that's a decision I'd be sure to regret if I ever need to sell it or trade it in.

I would trade my silver hood for a flat hood plus cash. I think my scoop looks good but I have an irrational hate for nonfunctional parts.
