UCA install writeup?
I have seen write ups for doing installs for suspension on our 5th gens, but I haven't seen any that include UCA install.
Any help?
Thanks in advance

Here's a video that I watched. I found it to be spot on for the 4Runner, even though it's for a taco.
Anyway, great vid

I'm with you. I am going to be by UCA's and I already have a lift installed. I've been wondering how easy just the install of UCA's would be. I also found the video linked above - it looks pretty straightforward.
However, I wonder if you can do the install without removing the coil over and the pressure on the lower control arm. If you can, it sure would be a simple job.

Yes, I just replaced my UCA bushings and DID NOT remove the coil over. That said, you must take pressure off the UCA by jacking up the LCA, this was somewhat tricky. I had to reposition the jack stands etc as it started to lift the truck up and I was not ok with doing work having it supported by the LCA.

This is the first post that came up when I searched asking about UCA Installs.
Thought I’d link my tutorial for anyone else that needs it.
4th & 5th Gen Upper Control Arm UCA Install - Write Up
Hope it helps.

UCA's are pretty easy to install. Hardest part is getting the long bolt out of the passenger side. Battery comes out so the driver side isn't bad. Here are the instructions off the top of my head:
1. Remove both front wheels / tires.
2. Remove battery
3. Remove brake line retainers from OEM UCA.
3. Disconnect ball joint from knuckle.
4. Pull long bolts out.
5. Reverse these steps to install new UCA's. Use proper torque specs.
6. Get alignment.
SnailTrail4x4 and Tandem Offroad are good YouTube channels.

never had to remove battery, its annoying though with that long bolt. when reinstalling use grease to hold the washers on or a helper.
